Like most these hypothetical questions, the answer is always yes, depending on what it takes to get someone (and/or what other assets we get in combination). PG on this roster for nothing is an easy yes. PG for Dame is an easy no. Where is the middle ground? Tough question. Clippers would want a win now trade if they were to give up PG, so CJ (and his horrible contract) plus someone else would be a minimum starting point for the Clippers. I'm assuming they'd want Nurk too, and of course, that would give me pause. CJ and Collins for PG, sure, I'd do it.

It has been implied that Jerry West won't want to keep PG because he's not the kind of competitor he values.

Like Leonard Paul wanted to go home too, I doubt he's want to come to Portland.

yes. Because even if he leaves you open up money to go after a Kawhi or a Giannis or maybe even Lebron. All are better pairings with Lillard than CJ.

All this energy including mine wasted on Paul George.

I’d like to know who implied this and what podcasts that you feel are reputable that have been talking about this.
When you start talking about what Jerry West is thinking I start questioning the source.

This is not a good backup plan. None of those guys are coming to Portland as a free agent.

Still, for CJ and Collins, I'd welcome PG.

Same. I know almost everybody is trashing on PG right now but he got superstar talent. Right now he’s getting the Jimmy Butler treatment. People are forgetting just how good PG can be. I truly do think that under Lillard leadership he would thrive here. It’s not often a talent like him is on the market

If we could get that trade done then I would want to bring Melo back to start at PF, sign Michael Carter Williams with part of the MLE to be our backup guard and use the rest of the MLE on Jabari Parker. If Parker could be healthy he might be able to beat out Melo and be our starting PF. Maybe I'm crazy, I know the guy has a really bad injury history but he's a really good ball player when healthy.

Can he pick up his player option one year earlier? Then we ll have him for two full years at least.

I can see there will be absolutely no answer to this question.

Who is "Implying" the Jerry West does not want to keep Paul George and that he thinks Paul George is not the "kind of competitor he values"?

Also exactly which podcasts are the podcasts you respect?
Unless you can provide these they are your opinion and your opinion alone. Unverifiable rubbish.
Now make sure you put those statements in your book also.

If Paul George wanted to come home, why did he sign a huge extension with OKC? He could've played with LeBron in LA last season if he wanted to.
