On a side note, Lamoriello winning the GM of the year award was probably one of the biggest disgraces in the history of the NHL awards voting. A sympathy vote for an old man. It's as if the hockey world had it's eyes closed and chose not to realize that the Islanders are in cap hell, were going to miss the playoffs and his Pageau deal was a disaster until Covid hit. If we are going to factor in playoff runs with that award than the Dallas GM should be the GM of the year.

Well, now that I'm on "Ignore"...does anyone else find it strangely pathetic that dump has to come to a Rangers message board to talk football? Don't get me wrong, it makes perfect sense. He probably is such a prick to the people he used to talk with about the Giants that no one engages him anymore. Dude is so attention starved, it's kinda sad. At least we are used to his childish rants and can handle him!

That take is so wrong. They went for the cup, you know the goal of every team, and came up just a little short. Okay, it happens. But before their players lost their value they flipped them to get all of the picks back, and then some, that they traded away. And now 3 or so years later they are ready to win again, and by next season they should be a legit contender. So you are wrong bro, despite your refusal to admit it.

Here is the timeline - many years of being a contending team making long runs, dealt many picks to elongate that run and get as much out of it as possible, before the players who fueled the run lost their value Gorton traded many away and restocked the system and future, now 3 or 4 years later they are ready to win again.

Give me a break if you think that is the wrong approach. Many winning years, 3 years or so to restock, and then hopefully many winning years again.

That is a great way to play it, and huge kudos to Gorton for understanding that, despite your take. Every team in the NHL would take that path. In the NHL trading 1st round picks for rentals to take your shot happens year in and year out. It is part of the league, and I would argue the Rangers played it better than almost any team ever has, while also being very lucky to move up to # 2 and # 1 in back to back drafts.

And those picks the Rangers traded turned into Kerby Rychel and Josh Ho-Sang, both of whom haven't amounted to anything. Duclair hasn't set the world on fire either.

I consider Saquan a generational player, worth the #2 pick and he immediately assumed a major role in the Giants offense winning rookie of the year. The #1 priority of a GM at the draft is hitting on the players he selects, that was Reese's problem, he drafted too many busts. Again for the Saquan pick haters, I get it that you wanted that mope Darnold instead because that was the alternative and it's ok to select QBs with a top draft pick. Watch Sam play and you might change your opinion on the Saquan pick

The Rangers didn't make the picks so stating who another team took with those picks is stupid.

Sequon was the right pick unless they were going with Chubb which I would have been OK with also. Either way it's bad luck he got hurt. Other than Slayton, none of the Giants best offensive weapons stay healthy. Which is why next year they need to have extra picks. The offense needs at least one other RB and 2-3 new WR's with some speed. They have the defense to work on as well. I can only hope that Gettleman is finally active at the deadline and moves players for picks. This will be his best chance. Teams have a ton of injuries. The NFC east is wide open. The Packers and Saints badly need a pass catching TE. If Gettleman can't get a good deal there then I'll start bashing him. Hopefully the dipshit will be healthy. That is why I'd move him sooner than later. They also could use a WR like Tate or Shepard as well. Titans need WR help. I'm sure a ton of teams could use a player like Ryan or a guard like Zeitler. There are deals out there to be made. Honestly, it's not like Jones doesn't have to go out there and try to win every freakin game with his arm now. I'd rather have the picks and put some young WR's out there and see if any of them can develop like Slayton did.

It's amazing how Giants consistently leave half ass receivers open all the time and their schmucks can't get any separation game after game. Thank God for the Rangers because the rest of NY sports sucks dick.

Not much of a chance, but I thought today was maybe the worst game Jones has played. He looked off all game. Not his fault as he was under pressure all game, with few weapons, but he did not look great today.

This is the worst pair of New York football teams since the 70s. Just unwatchable crap. Seriously, why even bother at this point? I'd rather watch more entertaining games or do something better with my Sunday.

Sadly, when I watch the Giants their WR's never get open. They have little to no speed. The Giants and Jets as a whole don't invest in speed and it's one of the reasons both have terrible secondary's and poor WR cores. I feel bad for both QB's. Neither has a running game as well. Neither team has one pass rusher capable of giving a good OL a hard time. These two QB's are in impossible situations. Only thing you can hope for is that both GM's stock pile more picks and somehow get a lot more team speed and an OL that doesn't suck.

    Gettleman still looking good...LOL.

Andrew Thomas was drafted first but is performing worst.

Scouts, executives and analysts couldn’t reach a consensus when ranking the four premier offensive tackles in the 2020 NFL Draft class. Against that risky backdrop, the Giants made Thomas the first off the board, leaving Jedrick Wills for the Browns, Mekhi Becton for the Jets and Tristan Wirfs for the Buccaneers within the top 15 picks.

Early returns are cause for concern.

Thomas allowed six pressures — second-most among all NFL offensive linemen in Week 4 — and two sacks Sunday against the Rams, according to Pro Football Focus. With five sacks allowed, he is graded No. 66 among 72 tackles, while Wirfs (No. 24), Becton (No. 26) and Wills (No. 46) are faring better.

Andrew Thomas is fine. This was his first bad game. As usual you're moron and read some loser in the Post who knows nothing about football. I watch Thomas. He was good his first three games. Those rankings also don't take into account when they overload. In week two Thomas had his man and then Mack came over to make it 2 on 1. It's up to the team to pick up one of those two guys. They didn't and charged Thomas with the sack which is total bullshit. You need to stop believing what you read in the Post and try watching things with your eyes. PFF is the best grading players but like I just pointed out, they don't factor in overloads on tackles and credit pressures and sacks against the tackles when other players don't pick up pass rushers and do their job.

Also, Wirfs and Wills are on much more talented teams with more weapons, more vets on the lines. Becton is already hurt. His frame does not project to a long career in the NFL. One of the reasons they passed on him. I believe Wirfs is playing right tackle, not left. Big difference. If you watched the game unlike the dumb fuck that wrote the article, you would also know that Jones has to throw the ball all the time putting much more pressure on his line. He also holds onto the ball forever because his shitty receivers don't ever get open. Putting the line in a very tough spot.

When you have absolutely no running game because your line hasn't come together yet, doubtful that any tackle you put out there is going to rate very high when you play some of the best defenses in football the first 4 weeks.

And there are plenty of other articles and sources applauding him games 1-3 but you didn’t post a single one. Can’t throw off the narrative I guess.

It truly amazes me how you have excuse after excuse for Gettleman and the crap teams he has put out year after year, while at the same time defending him, and knocking the team for having no talent and being a mess. That is pretty amazing stuff. He is the GM, has been the GM for 3 years now, he has miss after miss, the team has holes all over the place, you admit they lack talent, but somehow still defend Gettleman. That is amazing dude.

As for Thomas, no doubt it is still too early to read too deeply into how he has played thus far, and where he will end up, but he certainly hasn't looked head and shoulders above the other 3 guys, or like the 4th overall pick. But again being very fair it is too early to draw any real conclusions.

That's great to hear man. Post some of them. I'd love to get some good info on his play so far. Thanks for offering.

Giants have played Pitt, Chicago, San Fran and the Rams. Those are some of the best defenses in football. Even the 49's banged up are still good defensively. Tampa has played the Saints, Chargers, Carolina and Denver. All mediocre defenses and Wirfs is playing RT going against lesser pass rushers most of the time. Cleveland has played Baltimore, Cinn, Washington and Dallas. Baltimore is a legit defense and destroyed Cleveland. Cinn, Washington and Dallas are all atrocious defenses and Washington didn't have Young when they played them. Jets have played Buff, San Fran, Indy and Denver. They did nothing offensively the first three weeks. Teams aren't rushing the passer as much vs. the Jets because they don't have to. They have no WR's, TE's or RB's that can hurt you.

Let's see what Wills does now that he has to play Indy and Pitt the next two games. Tampa's entire schedule is pretty much full of crappy defensive teams. They play Chicago next week then GB.

What truly amazes me is how you believe the horeshit you read by stunted non athletes that write for papers. You continue to look at things based off of one game and have no ability to look at things from many angles. You have no clue how no running game and a QB that holds the ball a long time is going to hurt your tackles rating wise with places like PFF. You also are so stupid that you don't factor in the defenses those 4 tackles have played. The Giants have played some of the best defenses out there while the other tackles have not. Until you stop reading writers articles like they are hall of fame coaches, you will remain a joke here Chuck.

I didn’t offer shit, you can do your own research. I’ve cited articles for you in the past such as the pre-draft OT rankings, and you just ignore them and continue citing your own narrative like a robot.

Coming here and taking a victory lap after our best player shreds his knee and then celebrating that our first pick had a bad game with an LOL after ignoring his first 3 promising games says more about you as a fan than anything else.

Okay - I see this is a very passionate subject...LOL. I like it. Gets a board with no posters going. Love the passion and the cursing Prod. That is A game all the way. I figured if you are calling out articles maybe you could share some. Sorry that touched a nerve...:).

And your Barkley narrative is flat out wrong. I have said since day 1 taking an RB at # 2 was a huge mistake. The fact that he has had 2 of 3 down years proves it further. That's just fact man. Sorry that bothers you.

The point you continue to miss, is the GM you continue to support and love put this team together. When you say no running game, THAT IS ON GETTLEMAN. When you say a QB that holds the ball too long (meaning he is struggling), THAT IS ON GETTLEMAN who picked him way early. You don't get it man. You knock the team, you say they have no talent, the OL still stinks, no running game, but yet you praise the GM. You cannot have it both ways dude.
