Burrow, No. 1 LSU dominate Texas A&M, 50-7

Joe Burrows intention to give LSU fans one last memorable night in Tiger Stadium was as obvious as the name on the back of his jersey.

When the crowd realized during pregame introductions that it read, “Burreaux,” a spelling evocative of Louisiana’s Cajun French heritage, roars of approval poured forth from the Death Valley stands.

And that was just the beginning.

Burrow padded his Heisman Trophy resume with 352 yards and three touchdowns passing, and No.1 LSU beat Texas A&M 50-7 on Saturday night to give the Tigers their first unbeaten regular season since 2011.

Swamp success: No. 8 Florida ends 4-game home skid vs FSU

Florida receiver Kadarius Toney stopped in the end zone, struck a pose and pointed to the scoreboard as Florida State players walked by.

He was taunting the rival Seminoles -- at halftime. The game was essentially over at that point, and everyone knew it.

Kyle Trask threw three first-half touchdown passes, including two to Freddie Swain, and the eighth-ranked Gators hammered the Seminoles 40-17 to end a four-game, home losing streak in the series.

Bowden's late TD pass lifts Kentucky past Va Tech 37-30

Lynn Bowden Jr. outplayed Virginia Tech all day with his feet.

Then he closed them out with his arm.

"Ya'll said I couldn't throw, so over the top it goes," Bowden joked after the game.

Bowden ran for 233 yards on 34 carries, and then tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Josh Ali with 15 seconds left as Kentucky rallied behind its remarkable receiver-turned-quarterback to beat Virginia Tech 37-30 on Tuesday in the Belk Bowl.

Pickens caught 12 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown, and No. 5 Georgia defeated eighth-ranked Baylor 26-14 in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday night.

No. 16 Tennessee wins seventh straight 31-27 over Gamecocks

Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano expected a difficult time at South Carolina. He also expected the 16th-ranked Vols to come out on top, no matter how hard things got.

The Vols squandered a two-touchdown lead in the second half and held on to defeat the Gamecocks 31-27 for their seventh straight victory.

Spiller leads No. 10 Texas A&M over Vanderbilt 17-12

Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher admitted that he'd be mad all week after the way his 10th-ranked team played against Vanderbilt on Saturday night.

But the veteran coach was able to look on the bright side of his situation after the game.

"I'm going to promise you this, it's a lot easier to go fix mistakes when you win than when you lose," he said.

Isaiah Spiller had 117 yards rushing, Ainias Smith ran for a touchdown Texas A&M overcame three turnovers in a mistake-filled game to beat Vanderbilt 17-12 in the season-opener for both teams.

Costello's 623 yards lead Miss. St. past No. 6 LSU, 44-34.

New Mississippi State coach Mike Leach put his "Air Raid" offense in the hands of a transfer quarterback who showed up over the summer and the results were like nothing defending national champion LSU or the Southeastern Conference has ever seen.

K.J. Costello passed for an SEC record 623 yards and five touchdowns and the Bulldogs knocked off sixth-ranked LSU 44-34 on Saturday.

Bennett helps No. 4 Georgia rally past Arkansas 37-10

Stetson Bennett transferred away from Georgia after a freshman year spent far down the depth chart. Back then, in early 2018, he didn't think he'd ever get a chance to lead his home-state Bulldogs to a win.

    Things change.

Bennett wasn't expected to play in the Bulldogs' season and Southeastern Conference opener. The whole week was spent wondering whether Southern California transfer JT Daniels or redshirt freshman D'Wan Mathis would get the call against Arkansas. But when Daniels wasn't cleared because of injury and Mathis' slow start led to the Bulldogs trailing against an opponent that hadn't won an SEC game since October 2017, it was Bennett who had come full circle, back from junior-college football, and rallied Georgia to a 37-10 victory.

Trask, Pitts help No. 3 Florida top South Carolina 38-24

No. 3 Florida was nearly flawless on offense in its season opener, a 51-point, 642-yard barrage that set a school record. Two turnovers a week later made the Gators look vulnerable.

Kyle Trask and Kyle Pitts hooked up for two more touchdowns, continuing their hot start and leading Florida to a 38-24 victory over South Carolina on Saturday.
