Fuck, man, I remember loving this idea even back then. In hindsight it was the far superior move, although it was a different league back then and Sheed probably wasn't on board with matching up with Shaq at center in a series (or all the other bruising centers everybody else had to try to guard Shaq). And that's not a slight on Sheed. Garnett, Duncan, Webber--none of these guys who would probably be centers now wanted any part of playing center back then. I don't know if anybody ever forced the league to adapt to him the way Shaq did. He probably pushed back the evolution of small ball a decade. lol. I like this bump. It's really interesting to think about how much things changed.
