I don't think Grant has earned anyone being called "the next Grant" yet. Maybe his uncle did...

Hey, maybe Moses is the "next Grant"

Or maybe Grant can become "the next Jaylen Hoard"

Are you making sure to account for dead money? It doesnt add up to me. Heres what @hoopsjock has with our picks included. Would leave only $9M-$10M, not $14M-$15M Screenshot_20200927-223819_YouTube.jpg

    ok, let's see....from basketball insiders:

the first question is Nurkic. BBI seems to include his likely/unlikely bonuses. I'm thinking he might have an actual salary of 1-2M less

anyway, they say guarantees amount to 93M. Hood will almost certainly exercise his option, so it's up to 99.3M. I don't know what Hezonja will do. If he opts in Blazers are at 101M. If they were determined to maximize cap-space, they'd renounce Whiteside & Melo, and waive Ariza. So then, 103M.

that leaves the 1st and Gabriel. The pick would be around 3M, putting them at 106M; Gabriel would bump them up to the 107-108M range. So yeah, they'd have less than a full MLE with the cap at 116M. They could get more with some maneuvering and if Nurkic's actual salary has reverted to the unlikely bonus level. Still wouldn't allow them to be much of a player in the cap-space market

I don't think it would matter because I seriously doubt the cap will hold to the previous projections. It could drop below this year's mark, maybe by quite a bit

Victor Oladipo reportedly looking to move on from the Pacers.

I could get behind acquiring him. If you are moving on from CJ, this is the kind of player you find a way to do it for, IMO.

I was just going to post about the same thing.
Would they be interested? Could they make it work?

With his injury history? Would be a risk. Not sure if it's worth taking.

But it's interesting, especially with that contract. We could open up avenues to some capspace if Vic walked.

I want more value in a CJ-oladipo swap, because of contract and injury. But I have a hard time figuring out their thoughts on it. I doubt they just want a pick package, because of all the guys locked in. I imagine they're going to get lowballed on him, so I'd try oladipo and turner for cj and zach and see what they're thinking.

I read on the athletic today something like Hayward+Smart+picks for Oladipo+Turner. For sure both are on the market, but we don't have room for Turner as he cannot play PF.

You're right. I thought he played some PF there, hadn't checked before posting. He hasn't in years. Though, I dont think zach should really be playing there either.

Oladipo is probably gambling on people seeing Butler's success and thinking, "hey, Oladipo's the closest thing to that!"

I question olidapo’s value. He only played 1 year in the East at very high level. Year before last before his injury he wasn’t performing at the same level at all. Didn’t look great in his return this year either. On the plus side maybe, he will be a free agent after next year and playing again for max value, in the free agency everyone is trying to maneuver for cap space in. Would likely require over pay to retain

I still contend that very few teams will look at CJ + his contract as an asset. I suspect the majority of teams would see that as a liability and therefore we'd have to lose a trade on the talent end or take on a horrible contract in return.

I don't see the Blazers getting anywhere near the talent of Paul George for CJ straight across, but with a pick or two maybe. I am certain that CJ is seen as having value for the right team.

I'm glad all these other teams make big moves while the Blazers draft rookies and get mediocre role players.
