I think much of it is his personality, pretty humble dude and doesn't like the lime light.

A little surprise, but I think this is a good move by the Clippers. Doc doesn't win unless he's got A TON of talent on his roster. Even when he has multiple all-nba players he rarely gets out of the 2nd round.

I'd take Doc over Terry any day...and Olshey.

I swore he was halfway out the door in Boston until the Big 3.

it will be interesting who the Clippers go after as coach. He'd have to be good to manage the egos of Kawhi, PG13, and Beverly

I'd be pleased if LAC hired Olshey away from Portland. He could go back and moonlight on soap operas again

How come? Only time he's getting to the conference finals is when he's got 3 HOF players and an all-defense PG. Portland will never get that type of talent.

You'd have to think Kawhi was on board with this, because didn't he partly come to the Clips because of Doc? Also, he's a FA in a year, so it would be a HUGE risk to do something like this that he didn't want.

While I'm not in favor of hiring Doc, one advantage he has is that he wins polls of "Coach I'd most like to play for" among players.

Seems unlikely that they'd take a backward step.

Doc's best coaching job was in Orlando. Second best was the Ubuntu year.

I bet Doc ends up in Milwaukee.

EDIT: forgot Philly. If any team is in need of Ubuntu... It'll be one of Philly, Milwaukee or Houston, for sure. Of course, he should be in no hurry as he's got two more years of Ballmer money coming to him.

I don't think the Pelicans is all that likely, but Houston is a definite possibility.

Not with that outlook, they won’t!

But seriously, we could use a change. This team isn’t even close to better than the one Olshey inherited on Day 1 (AFTER drafting Dame, but still...). He’s had time. Terry has had time. Teams have risen and fallen in the time those guys have been here. Something new would be nice...
