Yeah, I think the reaction to that has been overblown but I've refrained from expressing that opinion so far cause I know I'll get blasted. If I did it on Twitter I'm sure I'd get called a white supremacist.

He said he was willing and prepared, but given the chance he did not. He did not denounce the proud boys or any other white supremacist/far right militia group.

He told his proud boys to stand by and now their itchy trigger fingers, just got itchier.

    what a crock of shit

we know what it looks like and sounds like when trump condemns something....look no further than how he condemns antifa and vote-by-mail. And we know what it looks and sounds like when trump is trying to weasel out of saying something. That's exactly what he did in this case. He had an easy out: condemn a specific part of white supremacy, and he didn't. For damn sure the Proud Boys know he didn't....whoever that tweeter is is too blind or stupid to see what the proud boys see

    * " Correction: Trump did one thing. On the Cleveland stage, Trump communicated that he will seize any opportunity to disrupt the vote and resist the outcome. He communicated more forcefully than ever that the only security the country has for a constitutional future is that Biden wins by the largest possible margin....

Biden may be faded from what he was: perhaps less crisp, less sharp, less fast. But when Biden spoke, he spoke to and about America. Trump spoke only about his wounded ego. Biden communicated:I care about you. Trump communicated:I hate everybody. Biden succeeded in putting his most important messages on record: your health care ,your job, your right to equal respect, regardless of race or creed—all against Trump’s disregard and disrespect. Trump might have imagined that he projected himself as strong. The whole world witnessed instead the destructive rage of a bully confronting impending defeat

He was asked to do two things at once, and he answered the second question and moved on.

The last question /request Wallace asked him to tell these groups to "stand down and not add to the violence".

Trump asked for a specific group name.

    Biden said "Proud Boys"

"Proud Boys, stand back and stand by".

As far getting across to viewers what they wanted to get across I think Trump won that. He acted exactly how his most dedicated followers wanted him to act. Biden is still trying to get some of the people who voted for Trump 4 years ago to vote for him. Trump knows he will never get anyone who voted for Hillary 4 years ago to vote for him.

Biden is campaigning as the every man. Trump is campaigning as the angry man.

Seeing that the polling of the debate mirrors the polling of the election neither candidate did anything to help or hurt themselves.

At this point that has to be considered a win for Biden. That was his goal, don't hurt himself.

I think the key take away was the country would be better served if both guys called it quits (or stroked out) and let their Veeps run for the White House.

What the dems need is voter turnout.

Its hard to get excited for Biden. However, there is a huge push to make voting easier, constant reminders on all the websites and apps and social platforms, so who knows.

There still are a large number of people who don't care or are lazy to vote or are uninspired.

I think even though Joe bumbled around a bit he won the debate. Not necessarily on substance as he in a politicians fashion, evaded few questions.

Yes, Trump is formidable. Not very many people could inspire the very same people they were condemning.

This "read the transcript, the media isn't reporting it correctly" is rather hilarious when you consider that the Proud Boys are jerking themselves off while saying the president loves them.

He isn't condemning the Proud Boys. I don't think he would.

Don't know alot about them, don't really care. they seem like freaks.

You didn't highlight the last thing Wallace requested. Which was to tell groups to stand down and don't add to the violence.

    Which he did.

I'm not sure what you're debating about.

He was asked to condemn, he did, and yet the people he was condemning came away energized by it.

To me that's impressive. I don't agree with it. I do not like Trump but still impressive.

But then added the "stand by" retort like he always does, to muddy the waters and send dog whistles to racist white groups.
