Gun to my head, I would pick Okongwu. Given the choice I would trade the pick. It's not that there is no talent out there - but the number of red flags flying over this bunch is beyond alarming!

Not a year I'd want the first pick, because I think the difference in value in the first four and maybe the first eight is so thin.

I'd probably go Edwards because I think he's probably going to be a slightly better Tyreke Evans, a power guard with a lot of upside. On pure talent, there's not a lot difference between him and Wiseman, IMO, but guards control so much of the way the game is played now. Feel free to archive this is Wiseman finds his motivation and turns out to be the second coming of Anthony Davis.

Which is probably why Minny is rumored not to want it

Wow, talk about damning with faint praise...

I think it's wide open this year. Here are my top 5:
    1. Onyeka Okongwu
    2. Obi Toppin
    3. James Wiseman
    4. LaMelo Ball
    5. Vernon Carey

A few wildcards: Reggie Perry, Isaac Okoro, and Zeke Nnaji.

I certainly wouldn't want the #1 pick this year. I think it's going to be another year like the 2013 draft. Heck, in 2013, the top 5 players by WS were #15 Giannis Antetokounmpo, #27 Rudy Gobert, #12 Steven Adams, #22 Mason Plumlee, and #10 CJ McCollum. Who's the Anthony Bennett in this draft?

    Vernon Carey? Why?

    And where's Anthony Edwards?

I don't watch a lot of college ball, but I do like to analyze the stats.

    Vernon Carey
    Age 19. 6'10", 270lbs. Duke (0.806 w/l).
    At only 24.9 min/game - 17.8 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.6 bpg, 57.7% fg, 38.1% 3fg (0.3/0.7)
    #20 NCAA Field Goal Percentage
    #19 NCAA Double-Doubles
    #2 NCAA WinShare/40
    #9 NCAA Box +/-
    2020 Consensus All-America 2nd team
That's the complete package with good upside and minimal risk. He's produced.

I'm not sold on Anthony Edwards. Of course he's still young and may develop into a solid player, but his stats don't impress me much. Georgia only won half their games. He shot 40.2% fg, and 29.4% from 3. I'd look at him in the 6-12 range.

I like Vernon Carey too. He’s more of a classic throwback big man who love to use his size. He got a little bit of a shooting potential too. But since he’s a throwback big man, in order for him to thrive in the nba he need high IQ on both side of the ball. He need to be able to pass the ball. Look at Jokic, Nurkic, and Nikola Vucevic, they’re all throwback big man who has been able to thrive in the modern era due to their ability to pass the ball. So with that being said Carey could be a solid big man in the nba, possibly a starter but he’s not worth the 1st pick

The problem with Carey is his game doesnt translate well from college to the pros. He's not going to be able to do what he did in college at the NBA level. Swanigan's stats popped but that's an example of a player who's game didnt translate well.

Edward's issue was poor shot selection and not having any help. His stock is high because he's upside is enormous.

So many key guys missing. I get it with the top dudes, but even guys projected in our range are missing. Especially ones I like such as Bey, Nesmith, etc. Wonder if they have promises already.

Wouldn't surprise me if Lamelo fell like a rock.

Saddiq Bey....hope he drops to 16? Id even trade up to get him after watching Miami and the shooters they have, we need a wing that can flat fill it up.

I don't really think that's what Bey is, though. Bey isn't this lights-out shooter. He's a good shooter. He's good at almost everything but great at nothing and while he's polished he's pretty much a finished product. I think of him more as a Spurs type role player than what has the Heat where they are today.

I don't really mind RJ if they determine he's BPA, although I do think Nesmith and Bey are better fits both positionally and skill wise.

Sorta frail guard under 6'5 who needs the ball in his hands to be effective, highly touted HS prospect, not that great of a defender. Sounds familiar.

He's a very good 3 point shooter and a solid defender? Isn't that what we need?

I believe Saddiq Bay was #4 in the entire NCAA in 3fg% at 45.1% shooting 5.6 3s per game. That falls into my 'lights-out' shooter category. I'd be very happy to have him available at #16 for the Blazers.

Not the highly touted HS prospect part
