It's one thing to stay on a team and try and get a ring....it's another to bail on a team right after you are back to back champions...the chump here is not CJ

I don't know if he is dissing him; just telling some truth. If CJ wants to win a title with Portland he needs to tear up his contract, sign up on the MLE for sixth man role and let us try to sign a taller two-way player to take his place on the starting five.
otherwise he needs to wait until his contract expires and try to find a championship caliber team that will sign him for MLE.

I have only been "BIGTIMED" by an athlete once in all my whole career....... KG. 2 seasons ago in Minny.
Used to LOVE him as a player, and in 5 seconds completely blew me away by how much of a jerk he was. Very rude.

what KD is saying about CJ's is probably accurate

but he's kind of douche for saying it considering the circumstances

The truth is somewhere in the middle. CJ is definitely a good starter but is CJ getting team max warranted or keeping Dame happy because it’s his bff?

    Yeah, come on John!

Anyways, I think KP's biggest mistake was not trading RLEC. Set us back...

Durant has the same misconception that many people have, that CJ isn't a championship level starter. The truth is we don't know how good CJ could be because Dame's game holds his back just like his game holds Dame's back. On a team with a big 3 and D guard next to him and other good-great defenders, CJ would be amazing... he's just not on that team. Also CJ would benefit a lot if he would look at himself as a great third option and a mediocre second option, instead CJ sees himself as a first option that is making sacrifices because he sees Dame as a better first option. KD is right to check CJ's image of himself, KD just goes too far in my opinion but it's a competitive league and some of these guys like to trash talk and put other guys down to feed their egos.

Yeah the problem is that players like Dame shouldn't be forced to evaluate the efficacy of their teammates because of personal attachment. CJ kills this team on the defensive end and constantly puts Dame in bad defensive positions and he takes away from Dame on the offensive end because he likes to iso so much instead of taking what Dame gives him. For being such great friends and so verbally complimentary of each other they sure do play like they're butting heads on court. It's not their body language or even how they see what's going on, it's just obvious that their offensive games just don't mix together and are separate, while again neither of them can handle defending the 2 and CJ is a bad defender overall while Dame is an average defender overall. This is not the way to maximize talent but that's not Dame's job or how he approaches the game. Dame is all about making the situation he finds himself in the best it can possibly be. So we need a GM who steps in and gives him the best situation regardless of how Dame sees it with his optimism.

Dame would be a great coach and a horrible GM because his attitude is we're going to roll with our guys and prove everyone wrong. That's great to develop and motivate and get the most out of what's given to you but it's terrible when it comes to evaluating talent, how talent meshes and moving talent around.

Reggie Miller used to be my favorite player. During his last year in the league I went into the Pacers locker room and he was sitting there talking to Dale Davis. Nobody else was in the locker room. I knew Dale pretty well from his time in Portland so I said what's up and then I asked Reggie if I could ask him a couple questions. He told me to fuck off and come back with the rest of the media at the end of the game.

    Fuck Reggie Miller.

I am really looking forward to seeing the "coaching collaboration" by KD and Kyrie and Nash fwiw.

Has anyone besides flat earther Kyrie said anything about this idea that there is no head coach. Kyrie is a fucking idiot and I doubt that he is relaying the message the way it was articulated to him. I'm sure Nash has talked about respecting players and using their knowledge base but I'm damn sure he's going to be the one making the decisions on who plays and who takes the last shot and a host of other things that he will let the players voice their opinions on and then make the final decision.

He was all alone at about 5 on a game night. Went up, introduced myself and told him I was with the Blazers and I was a big fan his whole career. Dude kept his head down looking at his phone and looked up at me only to give me a dirty look. WOW!
I mean, I have met some of the biggest names in the game and they were fantastic.....totally ruined my fandom towards him.
My grandpa said you can judge a man's character by how he treats people who can't do anything for them......

On a side note, I walked over and told Coach Vanterpool and he couldn't believe it! He was the one who always introduced me to guys.....Vince Carter, Chris Webber, Grant Hill, Bron ,KD, Russ and many others..... so when I told him I went up to KG and he was a dick to me, he said, "No way, he's the coolest dude out there!"
I called BS...... didn't have time for some random cracker I guess.

Careful with this take? He was alone looking down at his phone. I completely understand your side of this but think for a second? How many times have you been looking at your phone in your own space (Even in your own head) and been interrupted and you stay in the zone you happened to be in while on the phone? Not saying you are wrong but this is 5 seconds that he can never get back if you know what i mean.
