We're giving him two additional years at about 15 mil. total. Not really liking this, although I do like Dice, over 7 mil a year is too much. His deal coming off of the books this year, along with Murray's and Hunter's would have helped us get more flexibility in free agency next year. And because of this, he was a pretty solid trading piece. We officially signed Mejia, too. One year, partially guaranteed deal. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../707230422/1004

I don't know. I like Dice, but it just seems like we are overpaying him to me.

Glad to see Antonio rebound so well after all those years w/ knee problems. I think the Pistons overpaid for him, but I really admire the fact he's tried so hard to keep playing and be a contributor.

I don't get how much Piston fans think its just great they Amir got 12m and the kid has played in about 11 actual NBA games but Mcdyess who has been the main guy off the bench the last 3 seasons gets 14-15m and everyone is unhappy. Now, it is a difference in years, Amir is making 3m a year and Mcdyess more like 7 or so but I really don't have a problem with it, I think he has earned it. He's been like a serious sixth starter for this team since coming here. I'm glad he decided to comeback and hopefully he'll retire here. He hasn't shown signs of slowing down either, besides starting off the seasons slow but that's because he can't work out during off season.

Like said by someone else, the Pistons seem to wanted to develop Amir and Maxiel because they have good potential, yet they sign McDyess to this extension. I can tell why they would want McDyess next season, as they are still the top dogs in the East, and Dyess is a big part of their production off the bench, but they didn't really need to give him this extension. I guess they really don't want to develop Amir or Maxiel.

they need mcdyess. or else they can forget about hopes to going to the finals next year, also since their main guys(primarily billups) are getting older and soon billups wont be the great point guard

McDyess takes minutes away from Maxiell and Johnson, but he's still an important piece to Detroit's puzzle.. gives you additional scoring and rebounding off the bench, and besides, the man needs to get his ring.

We'll he won't get one here. Joe D sucks free agency wise and the players are too effin cocky.. And why won't Chauncey be a great point guard soon? His game isn't based off athleticism, speed, and all that type of shizznit. He's just a smart point guard that can abuse you with the three or take you down low and use his body to abuse you also. The dude knows how to get to the freethrow line, and is a great freethrow and general shooter.
