I don't give a shit about likes. I just don't like sanctimonious posts.

Someone else explain what sanctimonious means to @THE HCP

Amen, brother. I love me some RR posts, but it's hard not to acknowledge the nihilistic approach could do more harm than good this time around when it comes to the general election. Thinking back on the last almost-four years, I'm actually astounded there is anyone not doing EVERYTHING THEY CAN to rinse all remnants of our "leader" from the collective palate. AND if last time taught us anything, it taught us to take the process seriously and vote!

He will probably cite things that had nothing to do with who is or isn't President.

As if you know anything about getting all the "likes," bro... You're just lucky S2 doesn't have "don't likes"! I do believe you'd be swimming in them.

Yeah, you do. You had cited in here that "it's no wonder you don't have hardly any likes in here, ABM." Or something to that effect.

Doesn't really matter to me, though. Some things make me chuckle.

If you don't care for my sanctimonious posts, always feel free to click the ignore thingy.

OK, well interested enough to make comparisons on the matter. Keep fighting the good fight.

A little logic should show both parties supporters, their own parties hypocrisy. Yet logic never works.

If a person can end up homeless and living out on the streets, in one of the richest nations in history... your party literally doesn't care about it's own citizens.

Edit: Hell, we care about animals more than we care about the homeless in America. I see commercials wanting your money monthly to help with animal cruelty, yet not one commercial for the homeless American citizens living on our cities streets.

Usually it's an indication that people may agree with what you are saying/presenting.

Pointing it out doesn't mean someone seeks them or cares about it. I was stating that it says a lot when someone rarely gets a lot of likes and in your case plays the victim.

But it's like talking to a brick wall.

Yeah, and I could just as well be on a predominantly conservative site with much different results - in discussions, likes, or whatever.

This is a Blazers board, though, so I have a certain allegiance to it. ;)

I am going to argue that this is an oversimplification of a complicated issue, but it surely points to a problem with resource allocation in this country.

The fact of the matter tho is that with any large group of people - there will be disagreements about shared resource allocation - and unfortunately, too many people in this country believe that a giant military or propping businesses with little assurances for the benefit of society at large is more important than other things.

I think that the crux of the issue is not the parties themselves - it is the concentration of power and the reluctance of people to prioritize artificial sense of security via military or police or the illusion that big-business always knows best over other things.

    10/14: Microsoft News:
Trump's administration have urged Americans to practice social distancing and wear masks to slow the spread of the virus, but Trump himself has been reluctant to wear a mask in public. The President said that he didn't believe making masks mandatory across the country was necessary, but said in July that he is "all for masks" and that he "thinks masks are good." Trump has repeatedly downplayed the need for increased testing, and told supporters at a June rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that Covid-19 testing was "a double-edged sword." "When you do testing to that extent, you're going to find more people," he said during the rally. "You're going to find more cases. So I said to my people, 'Slow the testing down, please.' "

WTF?? Slow Down. You'll find more cases.???!!!

You know, it seems to me that if a person consistently gets his brains beat out on a daily basis and replying with nothing but false bravado, surely after awhile a light would go off in his head that says, "Hey, maybe it's me".

Attacking an individual is a no-no, but it's "open season" on individual opinions. The post was attacked, not the poster.

"Free speech" is not a one way street. Expressing one's opinion does not exempt that opinion from being ridiculed by others.

I want to say something here: in retrospect, maybe my reply to you was a little too aggressive. Obviously you were offended. If I crossed any generic line of political debate-decorum I can't really see, I apologize.

but, if it wasn't clear, I'll reiterate I think there are obvious and actual fundamental differences in principles, morality, & reason between the two parties, and not seeing those differences to the point of condemning both parties in the same manner ignores reality. The Democrats disappoint me repeatedly, and irritate me often. I wish there was a better choice in a better system in a better nation all the time. But that's a fictional world. Until we make fiction into reality we're left with the choices we actually have, and for me, there's no fucking way at all those two choices are of the same quality

Bill Clinton was fine with Ronald Reagan's tax cuts for the wealthy. Barack Obama was just fine with them too, as well as G.W. Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy. If Joe Biden is fine with them too, as well as Donald Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy. I believe that it is time to stop, just blaming republicans for these tax cuts for the wealthy.

Edit: Ronald Reagan brought America back these corrupt corporate stock buybacks. Every president beyond him has been fine with the corruption that Reagan started.
