Great video! My favorite trade target on that list is Nemanja Bjelica. He would great to have off of the bench next year. Having Trent, Hood, and Bjelica off of the bench would take this team to the next level I believe. Our starters for the most part have never really been the problem, it’s always seem like our bench can’t build off of the early lead that the starters usually get. But having 3 elite shooters off of the bench would be amazing. Ideally we get Bjelica for second round pick(s).

Good, creative ideas. I like them all, except Mc Gee. I don't usually let my personal dislikes affect my judgment, but somehow just don't like the guy. It's hard to rank them since we don't know if teams would take those offers. Least interested in the Ish Smith trade to get higher in the draft, more interested in getting players who can help right now.

The only one I like on there for the Blazers is Bjelica. Melo is returning and will play mainly at the 3. I think Hassan is gone. I like adding Bjelica

    Dame/Trent Jr/Simons
    CJ/Hood/Trent Jr
    Melo/Ariza/Little
    Collins/Melo/Bjelica
    Nurkic/Bjelica

Melo is not 100% returning, I dont know why people are satisfied g that other than a wildly misinterpreted TMZ clip.

It's also highly unlikely he would start at the 3 as well as play the backup 4 if he did. Also, Collins is more of a C than Bjelica. GTJ ay backup PG? I'm very confused...

    Itd likely look something like:

    Dame / CJ
    CJ / GTJ
    Ariza / Hood
    Collins or MLE / Bjelica
    Nurkic / Collins or MLE

If we sign a 4, Collins is backup C. If we sign a backup 5, Collins starts at the 4.

It's not 100% until he signs on the dotted line. One phone call from Lebron and he is burning rubber to the airport.

He said he is coming back

I had GT at the back up point because with Melo returning and Hood returning it fills up minutes at the 2 and 3. I was thinking Hood would be the one to bring the ball up the floor in that scenario. If Melo comes back how does that change that lineup?

    But ok

    Dame/CJ/Simons
    CJ/GTJ
    Ariza/Hood/Little
    Melo/Bjelica
    Nurkic/Collins

Melo went between the 3 and 4 last year

Or the Blazers can sign Jeremy Lin with the MLE as well and have

    Dame/Lin/Simons
    CJ/GTJ
    Ariza/Hood/Little
    Melo/Bjelica
    Nurkic/Collins

It's not $7mil of "free money", we still have a cap and tax threshold.

You should have stated some assumptions at the beginning, like "Whiteside won't be re-signed, so
our cap situation looks like this..."

But, given that, I did enjoy the idea of the video, and you named some
    thoughtprovoking names out there.

Gimme Bjelica. Then do my CJ to NY trade from the trade ideas thread. Vassell at 8; Saddiq at 16 (let me dream!!).

    Dame/Payton/Simons
    GTJ/Vassell/Hood
    Ariza/Little/Bey
    Randle/Bjelica/Gabriel
    Nurk/Collins

    MLE still unused.

I really like that lineup. Much better than what we're likely going to see on the court next year.

I'd be interested to see if there was a way to swap Ariza for either Otto Porter or Oubre.

Flipping Ariza+?? for Oubre would be a major coup. I don't see why Phoenix would want to though.

oubre is an expiring, and any assets attached could be for a one year rental. ariza is a better defender and more reliable 3pt shooter. Meh
edit already looking at GTjr payday in that time frame., and likely zach collins if not extended this offseason.

That's a helluva roster and we would obviously use that MLE to get just one more impact player... and could just get the BPA.

Yeah but Ariza played for the Suns and was garbage. Oubre is playing for the Suns and is playing well. They have seen both from up close so they would never do that.

i was advocating for keeping ariza. acquisition costs for a one year rental of a questionable upgrade was my reasoning. Ariza played very well here. straight up for ariza is any easy no for phoenix but what would we include? he may be available depending on how they view bridges. in the bubble the suns went 8 and 0 without oubre and bridges started and played extremely well. his value may be more as an expiring to someone else than it would be to us.
