When the election is over I am sure things will lighten up. But right now in the OT section there is little room for Trump apologists.

 

I'm no Trump, nor Biden apologist.

Our outlooks overlap in some places, RR; I'm not a fan of the system itself and what it's become. I don't believe in individuals. It seems obvious now that the position of President might have a bit too much sway over the nation.

But this normalizing Trump is different. Trump has had a huge part in hurtling us towards an existential crisis in this country. He has, in less than four years, destroyed our reputation and national identity. Biden is whoever Biden is--a career politician, a hair sniffer, whatever--but comparing the two is ABSURD.

The things I teach my kids--have decorum, decency, compassion, empathy, respect--are all all traits Trump lacks.

Can't we agree on this? A vote for decorum, decency, compassion, empathy and respect is better than the vote for the verifiable opposite?

Listen, the antipathy you sense has only to with Trump and his sycophants, ie this isn't about Democrat or Republican. It's about a wannabe despot. This is a rare time--the U.S. in a leadership crisis. It has divided us, not only down party lines, but also by what it means to be a good person.

 

And then there's this:

Well, to be fair, they still dance better than Trump.

 

Not certain why I'm relating this, but a Black colleague/friend of mine and I were chatting on the phone the other day. He lives in Memphis. Anyway, Kamala came up near the of our business discussion. He told me he used to live in Cali while she was AG there. He then went on to tell me that she hates Black men...and he reiterated, "She HATES Black men!" He received a phone call, so we couldn't elaborate on that, but my guess is, apparently, she was pretty heavy-handed when dealing with Black crime there. Not certain. Anyway, I'm gonna find out what he meant by that strong statement. Oh, and I told him that I had been enlightened in a message board (here) that she's actually Black, despite the fact that her parents are Jamaican/Indian. He was pretty taken aback by that remark, as well. He then surprised me by retorting, "No she ain't! She ain't no Negro!" I kinda just stared at the phone. Anyway, I want to drill deeper with Dirk. Stay tuned.

 

I don't look at it that way. While I do see your point (and even agree that Trump must be removed from office for the good of the country). I see the problems with both candidates, not just one of them. Therefore, even if I see one candidate as worse than the other, I still see both as bad, and worthy of contempt.

True, but. Both parties, as well as their medias, have helped to divide America. Trump is just the end result of decades of America's two party tyranny.

 

This part also falls in line with my aspergers. We are known as truth tellers. Once I see the truth, I will post it, regardless of party. A post against a candidate, in my case, is never support for the opposing candidate.


Do people believe that if you post against a candidate that, by default, your are speaking out for their opponent?

The only way for Trump to be removed from office is to either not vote for him or support Biden and vote for him regardless of his shortcomings.

now, I know this won't make a dent, but you should watch that video in the post directly above your latest post....then think about that story you told

 

The statement was “there is little room for”. No not saying you are one. But people simply are through with him and making excuses for him. So if a statement is made defending him it will be met with resistance.

 

K, you, too. There are other lines of thinking on the matters, though. S2 brethren/sisters certainly don't have a corner on this market.
