Saying Trump is a great president aside from 8 million infected and counting, 215,000 dead and counting, economy in shambles and the plan is to just do nothing reminds me of the old joke:

Aside from that, how did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

So, you would have had him lock down the country from the get-go.

If he had just said "This thing is serious, we all need to wear masks, social distance, wash hands, be safe, look out for one another, listen to the scientists..." he would be cruising to re-election. But, as always, he played to his base and governed as if he were the president of the red states only. He also boxed himself in with his stupid "no mask" policy.

Encouraging people not to wear masks during a pandemic is the biggest, dumbest policy blunder since W's Iraq war.

We locked down and then lost whatever advantage that gave us because he didn't govern in a responsible manner. That's one reason he is going to be crushed in two weeks.

    lol...some still don't get it;

"Lock down" is a very loosely used term...there never was and still isn't the need for the POTUS to order a national lockdown...but some actual leadership in say Feb-Mar would have greatly reduced the total number of dead. (social distancing/wearing a mask, etc.)

Instead, Trump denied it was a serious problem, called it a "liberal hoax", refused to wear a mask, among other forms of idiocy and denial.

In fact, I believe that if Trump had even waited until June/July to grasp the obvious and started wearing a mask and implored Americans to do the same, he likely would not have gotten COVID himself ...and we would not only have had many less deaths/cases, but Trump might very well be comfortably leading in the "polls" instead of Biden.

I do agree with those sentiments. (still not convinced he will get "crushed", though.)

Ironically enough, my wife and I caught COVID only after we began to wear our masks religiously. I started wearing gaiters, but moved away from those with the N-95's. Following all of that, we believe we contracted the virus from my wife's good friend - an ER nurse - while eating breakfast together in Springfield, MO. The whole restaurant thing is still a bit odd to me: Walk into the restaurant with a mask on, then take it off at the table. Me thinks germs are leaking out in some form or fashion.

Dammed straight the germs are still going everywhere. That's why I haven't eaten in a restaurant this whole time.

Auto mechanics are the biggest carriers. Be careful out there.

This is exactly the case. He (he being Trump) totally downplayed the virus, and idiots then believed him and in some cases, caught it and died.

Maybe, juuuuuuuuuuust maybe, doctors know more than your uncle who sends you emails.

An opinion that is provably false is a strange opinion to have in my humble opinion.

Agreed. And over-reacting to an obvious joke is a strange hill to climb.

Interesting what is important to different people and we all have our right to choose what is and what isn't........
I was in the exact same spot financially as I was 4 years ago.......up until COVID. Now we have lost almost everything I worked for over the past 20 years.
The tension, stress and hate is at an all-time high in this country and to me that is MUCH more important. I am trying to raise kids in the middle of all this and this is terrifying.

    Sorry about that, lemme rephrase:

"Auto mechanics are the biggest spreaders. Be careful out there."

I had a thought that they touch your steering wheel, and such, and nobody would know the difference if you caught it that way.

agree...Im still a bit baffled at why the real pro's said in the beginning it wasn't necessary to wear a mask unless you were sick. Its the 21st century you'd think they would know it would help. Were they just concerned about the front line workers and inventory levels or did they actually believe they were not effective? I know the standard answer is they learn on the fly and then they learned the virus was air born versus just dropping to the ground. WHO, CDC & Fauci all changed their way of thinking.
Hell, I told my wife that in my years of flying all over North America Asians were wearing mask and its must be because they are effective. Was there some sandbagging going on?

I am better off now than I was 4 years ago, but it has zero to do with the President.

I think that initially they thought it was spread mainly by surface contact, thus the hand washing mania. It wasn’t until a couple of months in that they knew it was predominantly spread via inhaled droplets.
