    http://www.star-telegram.com/287/story/179255.htmlSome notes I found interesting:
This would leave the MLE now for any other free agent.
Trade bait or do we just let him go?
    Sweet!
An article today mentioned Webber not being resigned in Detroit. This leaves Webber with Dallas or retirement. Or he could have just been posturing for more money by only declaring 2 teams, and sign with one he did not mention. But it should point to Dallas having the inside track to his services.Do we sign Webber after signing Bass? Or go for a swing?

Everyone has been high on Bass for about a week or two. I've been high on Bass for about 2 years. I like Byron Scott, but he just didn't use Bass worth a damn. Hornets fans were never to happy about that. The Hornet games I went to Bass always got a good pop from the fans. I'm pleased Mavs signed someone. About damn time. It will be interesting how Mavs manage things from here on out. With the Free Agents and such. Also how they will deal with Fazekas, Rey and Pops all on the table. I expect a tough competition for all of them to fight, because imo only one of them will make the team

He just wasn't ready; I mean, imagine Tyrus Thomas, Glen Davis, and him in a lineup. Bass could have honed his skills and played a bit more of SF. But, he disproved my low expectations and showed flashes, even though Scott refused to give him playing time that first season. The next year, Simmons and Hilt got drafted and that was it for Brandon. It's good to see him somewhere where he can actually utilize his talent.

Yeah I think Bass should have stayed another year also. Hornets drafting two players of his position pretty much killed his chances of having a future with the Hornets franchise. Bass can be #33. Bass will be an immediate player on this team, being Dirks backup and all. Dirks backup as of right now, unless someone else is signed. And I'm pretty sure DLeague still has the rule of no more than 2 year players, so he wont be shipped to 66ers

I think Fazekas has 33. Bass wore 54 in Summer League and 30 in college.

I don't understand why we spend all this time building Pops up, then just sign this guy. I don't know much about him, but I do know about Pops, and he's a good player.
