Who was that Dominican kid we got excited about briefly a few years ago? This sounds like that.

    EDIT: Luis Montero!

    Someone's gotta say it...

Don't we have enough scrubs on this team without drafting another one?!

Maybe they want to trade back and grab Jay Scrubb with a late 1st round pick.

    Sounds like a NO move.

He better get drafted by a good team, because he's more post-injury Shaun Livingston than Penny Hardaway, and I can see some fans getting frustrated when he posts triple-singles but +10s.

Anyone have any views on Arkansas' Mason Jones? Sounds like a pure scorer.

They say he is not athletic, but how does a 6'5" guy shoot 75% at the rim if he is not athletic?
This site does a really complete analysis of players; first time I looked at it. https://advanceprobasketball.com/2020/05/31/mason-jones-nba-2020-draft-scouting-report-by-ahb-analytics/#:~:text=Mason Jones – NBA 2020 Draft Scouting Report by AHB Analytics,-May 31, 2020&text=2020 Draft Age: 21.9 years (July 21, 1998).&text=Brief Public Background: Mason Jones was a late bloomer in basketball.&text=Personality: Mason Jones is likable, the very supportive Arkansas fanbase.

Yeah the only problem I have with Olshey is that he (for how much everyone accuses him of putting spin on everything) believes in his guys way too much. He just never seems to know when something isn't working. That goes for CJ, that goes for the coaching staff, that goes for how long he stuck with and paid Meyers and the list does go on. His other problem is that he just doesn't seem to care about on court fit. He seems to be keenly aware of off court fit but that may not be him and might just be Dame's unbelievable leadership coupled with Stotts' very player friendly coaching.

As far as his draft day/night decision making goes, I don't have a big problem. I've never had a head scratching moment with him, he just makes good picks or trades with those picks during the draft. It's easy for fools in this forum to use their hindsight bullshit to talk about the guys that Olshey obviously has missed or guys he overvalued but I just don't see that. I actually think Olshey would be a really great GM if he had a president of basketball operations (obviously a title he currently holds) who held his feet to the fire and got him more active, not trader Bob active but just reasonably active. Just someone to end this love fest that yields less than spectacular results.

Okoro and P Williams wont drop to 16, imo. Im torn between Saddiq Bey or Jalen Smith and maybe neither drop to 16?
Smith is a beast with a shot and defense around the rim.

I also like that he draws an absurd amount of FTs, which would make a nice change from CJ.

I agree on not adding scrubs. But there are some very clear rotation caliber prospects in our range in this draft. Reminder, we had mario hezonja playing minutes in the playoffs.

Reminder: Mario was one of those guys that GMs thought might be a rotation player just a few drafts ago.

Worst part is: he was actually a lot better for us in those minutes than Carmelo.

If Rasta said it, you should know that metric will be RPM...

in his 14 mpg in 5 games of the playoffs? ya not gonna buy that one.

Mario was the worst player who got any sort of regular minutes in the playoffs or regular season.
