Trump is actively pushing for the destruction of democracy and 48 percent of the country supports it. I expected something like this and was i was still shocked. I feel sicker to my stomach now than how I felt when he was announced the victor in 2016. And he did it to a round of applause. I don't know if Amerikkka can be saved anymore. Honestly it doesn't even matter now, the fact that Biden didn't win in a landslide proves that America is beyond saving. There's just too much appetite for fascism here. RIP USA

The current flock of candidate choices is disappointing now but we hope for better in the future. Joe is a one term president (if elected~no jinx) but if Trump or any of his "ilk" wanted to run again, we would be cursed into eternity.

I agree but seriously who is going to step up? If Kamala tries to run they will not only blast her for being a woman but also way too Lib. So here we are trying to vet a new candidate when the obvious next choice should be the sitting president or their successor. Like i said the Backroom handshake deal is still killing them.

The obvious factor is age. If Kamala has to take the Presidential office and succeeds, then she and other gifted women will be a future positive advantage for the Democratic party (except for Nancy Pelosi, of whom, I do not favor). Republicans have to dismiss that old white man show. I mention Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell as prime examples.

Soon, if Trump wins, you will have to get used to this type of leader...... main-qimg-74599fd625739ea436d3d428304d520e-c.jpg

I went to sleep last night around 9 pm. I know better than to sit and go blind watching an election. Totally agree with everyone else that it should not be this close.
I got up and read this thread. What a crazy night you all had. Thanks for living it for me.
We will see how this turns out today. Remember. The Supreme Court is still made up of Judges. They are sworn to uphold the law and they really are upstanding people. Doesn't matter if they sway conservative or Liberal they still must follow the Law Of The Land. Trump can ask them to look at it all he wants. If people followed the rules set in place the election will indeed happen and the winner will be elected the next President of the United States.

Here is the law. If the election is a Tie- It goes to the House and the Senate elects the Vice Pres.
During a contingent election, each House state delegation casts one en bloc vote to determine the president, rather than a vote from each representative. Senators instead cast votes individually for vice president.

If there is a question in the "states dealing with the election" it goes to state level court and then if need be it goes to National Level.

Biggest losers of the election so far are the polling agencies.

Regardless of winner, Is it fair to say whatever metrics they use are obsolete?

The mainstream consensus seemed to have Trump between 0.5% - 5% chance of winning.

It really shouldn’t be this close.

It would be really good for the country if he didn’t need Pennsylvania. It would essentially end any questions Trump could have.

The long game here though looks impressive for Democratic candidates if they are indeed good candidates.
Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Arizona have all become swing states.
