I think it's pretty sad how the media/country spend so much time worrying about terrorism, when it's been 6 years since anythings happened. I know there's a lot behind the scenes, but I think as a country, we really have to admit, that it isn't as big of a threat/issue as we made it out to be.

Yeah, it hasn't happened recently, so don't pay any attention to it. [IMG] You just jinxed this country, by the way.

America has been attacked by islamic terrorists only twice (once successfully) in 14 years.

But once we let our guard down, something is bound to happen, just like 9/11. There were tips, but since nothing had happened in so long, the government just kind of blew it off. I would definatly rather be more safe than sorry.

Terrorism sells, thats a big part of it. like just the other days the local news kept hyping their story about a possibly terrorist attack on Hill AFB, it turns out thats it one guy threatning to kill a family from Idaho who worked at the base. while it's definatly newsworthy, it shouldn't be billed as a possible terrorist attack.also, the white house is constantly talking about it. the media will always latch onto anything the President says, they always have, and if the President is talking about something the Media will continually report on it.

no sh*t it's been overhyped, but that doesn't change the fact that 6 years is really not that impressive when you look at american history. This war has amplified the worldwide terrorist threat fivefold. But it is true that terror sells. It's the only way to get guys like KB24 to watch the media.

September 10th, 2001, people didn't pay any attention, or worry about such a thing. The next day every Americans life changed, and we all need to NEVER forget that day. So many people were affected by that tragedy, and 9/11 was preventable. Exactly why we need to start cracking down on people entering this country illegaly. Just think, if those terrorists would of been pulled over by the police when they were speeding, 3,000 people would be alive, TODAY. It's so sad to remember, but it is something we cannot FORGET, EVER.

9/11 could've been prevented. They had sources of info about an attack, this one had alot of backing to it as well, not like the other ones. As to the topic, it is being overplayed out by the media. But what can you do? There are many different news outlets, essentially giving out the same info (with their twists), and churning it out every time something appears to happen. It would be better to concentrate on some of the positive things. Usually the news is just about rape, murder, kidnappings, etc. Not like tthey don't deserve their share of time, but it does get ridiculous.

They could of caught them right when they sneaked box cutters on the plane, for example.

9/11 couldn't have been prevented because it was a plot by Bush to blow up the towers with bombs!I saw it on youtube!!!

heh 9/11 was a crazy day... I remember hearing about it in school and I asked my friend "what is a terrorist attack?" and hes like "idk!" lol...we were only in 4th grade at the time...we thought it was great because the rest of the day they let us play outside instead of doing school work, and a bunch of kids got to leave school early...everyone just took it as if it were a party...until I got home that day did I realize how BAD it was...just seeing the footage, having a couple people from my school's relatives die...it was all crazy. I think it hits u even more when u live close to NYC.

People dont realize it takes years and years of planning to actually pulloff a terrorists attack especially in America now. America doesn't use public transportation as much as other countries(which is an easy target), and the security is so high that in places with alotve people using public transportation(like New York), its difficult to pull off an attack to the magnitude terrorist groups want to. Also, there is a war going on in Iraq and many terrorist groups are pointing their attention towards that. Its bound to happen again, its just how long can we protect ourselves before we ease up and become vulnerable again.Btw, I was in the 5th grade and I was sitting at my desk(our desks were in groups of 4) and I was talking to my friend Kyto from Lous, and my teacher came in and told us what happened. And we all turned around and looked at Kyto(haha) and he went "Wasnt me"...haha. I knew what the World Trade Center, but for some reason when my teacher talked about the Pentagon, I thought about Abraham Lincolns face being blown off. Then I remember talking to the cafeteria lady in after-school-care and she said this "If Gore was president, this wouldnt have happen...but Bush will do something, hes from the South".:HAHAHA:
