Just watched a couple of 'highlight' videos. Solid stand-still shooter if left completely unguarded but after that, there seem to be some glaring weaknesses and it gets ugly in a hurry.
The fact they drafted a guard / maybe SF in a pinch says whatever OTHER moves they make will be SF/PF/ C variety type moves and let's be honest with that pick chances are they were not going to get a sleeper gem. I would give the pick a C / C plus with caveat of what they do in free agency cause if they do not get some solid players this will me more of a C move.
Good on catch and shoot ... also has a nice step back game ... is fairly long for his size and did a much better job of deflecting balls his sophomore season. Really thought he should come back for his junior year but made the jump. Even as a Wazzu grad I'm not sure exactly if he has an NBA game but at this point you have to trust that NO knows what he is doing with these 2nd round picks.
You give me 10 minutes and a kick ass song, I'll make Mario Hzonja or whatever his name is, look like Larry Bird!
Of course not, but I was hoping to see something more than him just making shots almost anyone I played college ball with could make if left that wide open. Once he was guarded, or had to put the ball on the floor, it turned sour in a hurry. Of course he can get better, but so far, nothing special. Looks more like someone you call after the Draft to be an UDFA choice.
One can see some things on a highlight video... like that CJ is a confident 6'6ish lefty jumpshooter with a quick release & is decently athletic. Don't know whether he can play or not, but seeing a couple vids I'm not without hope that he might be a player. STOMP
I did not watch too many WSU games last season, but I did watch the ones against Oregon, and Elleby dominated the one in the Palouse back in January.....going 25/14.
