Who are some players that have seen their popularities take a dip the past few years? One of them I think was Steve Francis, after being traded to Orlando, then moving on to New York, the whole NBA as well as their fans pretty much forgot about him. He never accomplished anything statistically in Orlando or New York, which is probably why the fans have sort of forgotten about him. Also, add on the fact that he hasn't been on any highlight reels, recently. However, him being reunited in Houston with Yao and teaming up with McGrady will certainly make him more known now, considering the fact that Houston always gets a lot of attention in NBA news, etc.

Mike Bibby definitely. And God knows when Jay Williams will come back to play.

As many of you have said, Mike Bibby has dissapeared since Webber was on the team. When you think of Sacramento, Ron Artest comes to mind as their 'franchise player' now. Bibby now has a decreased role on a Kings squad who missed the playoffs next season. I would have considered Andrei Kirilenko a forgetten player before his great performance in the Golden State series. Two years ago, AK47 was injured through 20 games of the season, however this year he just wasn't playing a huge role leading Utah to the division title. He was still playing starter minutes but not living up to the expectations that were set for him after getting off to a quick start in the NBA.

What 3 centers were better than Jamaal Magloire in 2004?

Even Dampier was beastin it that season.

Dampier, Ilaguskus, and Ming's numbers weren't as good as Magloire's that year. And as good as you want to believe Ben Wallace is, he's still going to be very 1 dimensional. I don't see any center outside of Shaq being better than Magloire in his All-Star campaign. Someone look up some numbers and post them, and if I'm wrong I will take defeat like a man.

Also, Yao completely altered the defensive game plan for opponents creating lots of open jumpers.03/04 Shaquille O'Neal 21.5 PPG 13.2 RPG There is no doubt that Shaq was a better player than Magloire03/04 Chris Webber 18.7 PPG 8.7 RPG 4.6 APGYou forgot about Webber, he may not have had a season like his first couple with Sacramento but still put up dynamite big-man numbers. His amazing ability to pass out creates alot for any team.03/04 Erick Dampier 12.3 PPG 12 RPGDampier was a rebounding machine his last season with Golden State. He was great on the defensive end of the floor and not a liability on offense.03/04 Ben Wallace 9.5 PPG 12.4 RPGBen Wallace has been a dominant defensive player since his second year in Washington. You did bring up that Wallace is very much a one dimensional player, but you forget that Jamaal Magloire is also a weak offensive player. I would take Wallace over Magloire in a heartbeat.

I will acept defeat, but I would still rather have the bruising prototypical C like Magloire on my team over Ilgauskus and Ming. I can't deny that Dampier's numbers were better. By my judgement I still put Magloire #3 in the L during that season.

He was just very consistent in those 82 games. He does well when he's healthy, and when he's healthy he doesn't bi*ch and he is motivated. Yao Ming and Ilgauskas were better than him, and are right now until he can prove that he can play a full season and stay hungry.

Ming and Z were 7'5 and 7'3 respectively in that season and couldn't grab near 10 rpg. Not to mention magloire had P.J. Brown playing next to him who is a hard-nosed veteran. Ming had who? Mo Taylor? Who'd Z have? Drew Gooden or was it still an undeveloped Carlos Boozer?

Yao has now improved his ability to grab boards. Also, Yao was much more of a force offensively than Jamaal Magloire has ever been. Even in his second season he would still force a ton of attention from the defense.

Aside from people overrating Jamaal magloire as usual, (even though I like him because hes from Toronto) A forgotten player in my mind Corey Maggette. Every since he got injured and wanted to get traded, we all forgot about him. If his price tag werent too high, I was the one rallying for him to come to Toronto basically because he fits the role we need. Another forgotten player is Chris Mihm. I was sure he would be a very very solid player in the Lakers rotation yet he faded due to injuries, I had real hopes for these guys.

Until he got traded Ray Allen was forgotten by alot of people the past couple of seasons. The sonics had a great season, won their division, and made it to the second round of the playoffs in 2005 but ever since then nobody has been talking about how good Ray allen had been playing in 2006 and when he wasnt hurt last season. But now that he is in Boston, he'll get more attention. Probably more than he wants.

He has just recently recovered from his injury, re-signed with the Lakers this off-season, and will playing next season.
