Neil also said that Ant was "as gifted as anyone I've drafted" so the real takeaway is that Neil expects Dame or CJ to be the PG 95% of the time.
I’d like to actually get an honest answer from Olshey as to how Simons is a better backup point than anyone available. Like for example, what makes him better than Reggie Jackson? Certainly isn’t anything on paper.
I told you that the vibe I was getting from that pick was that Neil didn't like anyone available and just took the next guy on his draft board. Neil usually has a target or a sleeper and I think due to the lack of scouting opportunities and possibly some guys going earlier than he thought or this just being as shitty of a draft class as many in the media had said, Neil had very little interest in this draft. That's probably very frustrating for Neil because the draft is his thing and he may feel like his thing was taken from him this year.
Not to mention RoCo might legitimately be our best guy to fuck up what AD is trying to do. He has a long reach, great footwork and is tough as nails. Sure ideally Zach will get better and be able to match up with AD better than RoCo but at this moment that's not the case.
You don't think that Neil and Terry talked and Neil is the guy on this team, I'm sure he's not overbearing with Terry but most of the time in these news conferences when he's named starters they've been the starters barring injury on day one.
I thought he seemed that Elleby was a versatile player with college stats. Im sure he was just involved with this guy as he was Trent or any other 2nd except no personal workout, but I dont think all second rounders do.
I remember when Jackson was new in the league he was complaining about not starting. I remember thinking he didn't deserve to and saying that probably meant he wasn't a good locker room guy. He's never looked like he enjoyed the game which could rub people the wrong way.
Hey I have a bachelor's degree in physics from OSU! And at long as my wife isn't home, I'm definitely smarter than my kids!
Yeah i wonder those kinds of things also. If Jackson is such a great back up PG why ain't he on a team yet?
If that were the case, then why not sign CJ to a 2-way contract? I think that would've been a better route to go into the season with.
