While we dont know the 5th man who will start next to Dame, CJ, Nurk, and RoCo, we can still project our bench strength, with should be better than any bench Dame has had our. I'm curious as to where you guys would rank our bench?

Also, I was calling this in April:

I couldn't name most bench rosters in the league right now but I'm going to say top 5 at least and a good chance even better than that...I'd have to study the opposing benches which in some cases aren't even complete yet

Wouldn't an answer require making some broad guesses about Collins' and Hood's health?

well it's all speculation until we see a string of games but.....I assume Rodney is good to go and Collins is out for a couple months

Our bench will better offensely this year with Trent Melo Hood and then who going to be back up center Zach or Kanter and then who going play point CJ or Simons. There going be a lot of fire power in that 2nd unit. Bench should be able to score 35 to 40 point a game and if they do that we will hard to beat. Plus side if they do that just that much rest for guys like Dame and Nurk and maybe CJ especially if Simons can handle that back up point.

Two years ago it was awesome at the end of the year seeing our bench with Seth, Hood, Kanter come in and ramp up the lead. Hadnt seen that since James Jones and Rudy were on the bench. Sucked it was so short with the Nurk injury.

I hope we see much more of that, where I'm excited to watch our bench instead of hoping they don't dig a hole that's to hard for Dame to win.

    Go Blazers!

With Simons or CJ running point for the bench, average at best.

I’m not saying anything. I don’t want to jinx our health. It all depends on healthy bodies.

So besides us there are really only two other benches in the league that I would even characterize as good. The Nets and Heat. I think our bench is considerably better than what the heat have. It's really hard to tell with the Nets. They have some really good bench players. So to battle against bias I would rank the best benches in the league:

    Nets
    Blazers
    Heat

Another playmaker slash ball handler would make me feel a bit better, but it's looking strong. If there is real growth from Ant then I will sleep better.

Clippers and maybe the Lakers (depending on who starts) have impressive benches as well tbh.

This question would be far better to ask of fans of other teams. Sure they might ranked their own team too high, but are much more likely to rate our bench fairly. I'd spitball that our bench should be around 5th. Our starting lineup would not ranked as well as the bench though.

What I like about our current roster setu is that an injury to one of our 4th-7th best players shouldn't have much of an impact at all.

Don't forget the Lakers. They will bring off the bench the two finalists of 6th man award. Schroder and Harrell.
