Currently looking for a new TV.
Usually buy only Samsung or Sony. I want this one to be 65" or bigger. I know we would like to get one that can handle all of our streaming services.
    Netflix
    Prime
    HBOMax
    AppleTVPlus
    DisneyPlus
I want to get rid of our external appletv box, and I was reading that only certain brands get HBOMax.
Would love some recommendations and if you guys have any of these services and if they are all available on your brand of SmartTV. Thanks!

Just saw on Best Buy Black Friday a Samsung 70” is only $529.

Great deal. Got the same TV only a couple years older and it’s great

I saw this tv. Saw a couple others in that range. Was actually planning on spending more, but this would be great. Do you know if you can get HBOMax or AppleTVPlus

Smart TVs are horrible. Just get the best picture for the best price you can and install a box that handles what you want. Fire TV, chromecast, Nvidia shield, Roku, etc. Or even a windows pc via hdmi.

You'll get better user interface, better features, better security with more frequent and less painful updates for a longer period of time.

I bought this one a couple months ago and don't have any complaints at all. It has the services you mentioned but it hasa Apple TV not Plus. That said I bought an Ultra (4K) ROKU because I can't stand the Samsung interface.
I went with it because of the 240 motion rate because I do some gaming on it. Plus between Costco, Samsung and the free Allstate warranty its covered for 5 yrs. Some reviews say its too dark for watching movies but it seems
more than bright enough to me. Theres some calibrations posted online that may make it better but I haven't bothered as of yet. One con is that it doesn't support Dolby Vision.

I got it for $749 at Costco on sale but their Black Friday sale is showing it at $799, don't know whats up with that.

Samsung would be my choice, comes with most of those apps pre installed except for HBO max, but you can add it. Also some of those apps run best on a Samsung, at least compared to my PS4 and vice versa.

I got a 55" TCL w/ Roku from Costco last year for $240. Nice TV, great TV for the price. Does all the things a TV should do. This was the first time having Roku, it's okay.

Never heard of TCL but I figured if Costco carries it then it can't be a complete piece of shit.

yep, rtings is a great sight and once someone purchases a tv they have calibration settings for most tv's to fine tune the picture.

We have bought a few cheaper new TVs lately and I have to say I have been impressed with the new integrated interfaces. We have a Hisense Roku TV and a Sony with android. Both are pretty great and even being on the cheaper side, they handle the program navigation with little lag. I also have a more expensive Samsung TV and while it's a quality device, I really don't like it's Interface set up.

Another note is that HBO max availability is annoying but don't worry about it too much, AT&T is negotiating with most platforms they are just trying to use it for leverage and are kind of being jerks, but it's a matter of time

I have a Roku TV in my bedroom one of those cheap chinese brands (just checked its Insignia, Best Buy's in house brand). You really need to get the Roku speakers, they make a huge difference and are easy to sync.

TVs are basically disposable nowadays. So cheap that they aren't worth to fix. Unless you are a total home theatre geek or playing tons of video games (which is probably HCP), these TCL/etc brands are fine I think. If you use Apple TV to get apple content, just keep the Apple TV set up or get the latest. I hate the little candy bar remote and I replaced mine with Google TV with Chromecast, which is so much better.

I'm thinking of getting the Roku Soundbar, the cheap one is on sale. not sure tho, I have a samsung one I got for like 80 bucks, its ok.

I've got a Samsung soundbar in the bedroom and a Polk in the living. Both sync up just fine with the TVs.

I' ve got two Sharps'. The older 50" is 11 years old and still works great. For the money endurance and picture, I promote this brand.

I have a full surround sound setup in my bedroom as it starts with a 50" Samsung 4k tv, Pioneer Elite THX receiver. 3 NHT speakers across the front (some of the best small speakers available), a 12" M&K 200 watt subwoofer and 2 Paradigm ADP 150 surround speakers along with a Sony 4k UHD Blu Ray player. It pretty much kicks ass. I'm pretty fussy about my picture and sound.

Thanks for the input. Still researching. As far as audio goes, we have SONOS all over the house.
