Roku is best because they have a one search function for all the streaming services. You don’t have to check them one by one to find the movie you want to see.

Honestly, Kodi with Seren and real debrid gives you literally everything you could ever want, except live sports for about $5 per month.

And if you add "the crew" you get most live sports as well.

But as was said here, smart TV software leaves much to be desired. I've used Chromecasts for years, got the new one that has a remote and it's working great.

    Two comments about Samsung:
    1. Our first Samsung conked out after our warranty expired a month earlier. Shit shit shit. So I went out on the web to see if anyone else had that problem. Sure enough a lot of people had that problem. One guy supplied a video on how to fix it. It was a power supply problem. Now I don't know a lot about TVs but I do know a lot about power supplies. I could see that it was an electrolytic capacitor that went out. I've fixed more than 100 bad electrolytic capacitors in my days at Tektronix when I worked as a technician and before that as an assembler. After my technician days and after my graduation from college I became an electrical engineer. So, I felt comfortable repairing my TV. I knew what to look for in a bad electrolytic capacitor and I could tell from the capacitance of the one installed that it was undersized for the task. I went to Radio Shack and bought one that I knew would do the job, installed it and it worked like a charm. About 6 months later I went to a TV repair shop and was told the repair would cost more than the TV was worth. I swore off Samsungs.
    2. We bought a new Samsung because it had the best picture of any TV at Costco. We've now had it for over six years ago and it's worked flawlessly.

Samsung seems to have the best technology in the business except for that one power supply that had some idiot, perhaps the president's son, do an idiotic job with that capacitor.

To sum it up, I'd go with the Samsung.

By the way, the real son of the President of Samsung was the best friend of my great nephew while attending Oregon Episcopal School in Progress. a fabulous elementary and high school that was built around a family church by a bishop who had dinner a few times at my house when I was a little boy of about 9. Okay, i threw all that in there because I wanted to brag but I have so little to brag about that I ask you to give me that.

Went ahead and went the lower end model Samsung. 65” 4K.
The reviews were fantastic and to be totally honest, I couldn’t turn down the price.
Originally $900, BlackFriday deal $525, open box $400!!!!!
We have had very good experiences with open box products from Best Buy over the years.
    Comes tomorrow.
Curious where am I going to find true 4K content? Not that big of a deal, just wouldn’t mind seeing what it looks like.

Upgrade your Netflix to the 4K.

    Amazon Prime has 4K content.

On Netflix watch Marco Polo, great show but they also filmed on location with 4k cameras and the scenery is gorgeous.

On Amazon watch The Expanse. Great sci fi story. Season 1 starts a little slow but the payoff is great!

    Marco Polo isn't a documentary.

    But it is good.

Did you get the 7 series (NU7000) or 8 series (NU8000). Let me know and I can hook you up with some decent settings to get the most out of your picture.

As far as video games, My son has a PS4 and XBOX. When moved out for college last year, he gave me his PS3 and like 30 games. It's hooked up, but I only end up playing like a couple times a year. Love those first person WWI games. Haven't hooked it up to the new tv yet.

okay, I am assuming you have the TU7000 set. If so, then here is a link to calibrate your tv. Follow it step by step and it should give you a pretty good picture. It will look a little dull at first but allow some time watching and your eyes will adjust to it.

If that's not the correct model then type the correct model in the search function from the rtings page with the word settings following the model number and the calibration settings should pop up for your set.

Also, do you have Comcast? If so, then you should exchange the box for a new 4k box and then once hooked up just say 4k into the voice remote and all content available in 4k from Comcast will be listed.
