Fairleigh Dickinson at Rutgers Harper Jr. Scores Career-High 30

Rutgers will be without All-Big Ten guard Geo Baker for the foreseeable future, as the senior captain is relegated to the sidelines with a sprained ankle.

That’s no problem for the Scarlet Knights and their next-man-up mentality.

Ron Harper Jr. had a career-high 30 points with efficient 11-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, and Jacob Young finished with 24 points and seven assists as No. 24 Rutgers beat Fairleigh Dickinson 96-75 Friday night.

Harper, Young And Mathis Lead No. 24 Rutgers Past Hofstra

Rutgers has picked up where it left off before the coronavirus ended its season last spring — pushing hard for a long-elusive NCAA Tournament bid.

Ron Harper Jr. had 15 points and nine rebounds, Jacob Young had 17 points and No. 24 Rutgers beat Hofstra 70-56 on Sunday. It’s the first time the Scarlet Knights (3-0) have won three games by 10 or more points to start a season since 1980-1981.

No. 4 Wisconsin made sure not to let anything interfere with the continuation of its winning streak Tuesday.

It didn’t matter if the man in charge of the opposite bench was the son of the winningest coach in Badgers history.

Micah Potter scored 14 points to lead five Badgers in double figures as Wisconsin breezed to an 82-42 victory over Green Bay on Tuesday in Phoenix coach Will Ryan’s return to Madison.

Garza, Nunge lead No. 3 Iowa past Western Illinois, 99-58

Luka Garza and Jack Nunge came to Iowa in the same recruiting class. It’s a connection that Garza, the Big Ten player of the year last season, appreciates.

And with Nunge now back with the Hawkeyes, Garza couldn’t be happier — for a lot of reasons.

Garza scored 35 points, 30 in the first half, and grabbed 10 rebounds as No. 3 Iowa stayed unbeaten with a 99-58 win over Western Illinois on Thursday night.

No. 4 Michigan State Stays Unbeaten, Tops Oakland 109-91

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo understood the entertainment value of his team's latest victory — by a final score that more resembled an NBA game.

“That was a game for the media, for TV, for our fans, for our parents, and for our players — because we scored 109 points," Izzo said. "For the coaches, there were some disappointments defensively.”

Gabe Brown scored a career-high 20 points, and No. 4 Michigan State used a 13-0 run early in the second half to pull away to a 109-91 victory over Oakland on Sunday. Rashad Williams scored 23 of his 36 points in the first half for Oakland, his second straight huge game against a big-name opponent.
