No. 6 Florida dominates in second half, defeats Kentucky 34-10

Florida tight end Kyle Pitts (84) catches a pass in front of Kentucky defensive
back Brandin Echols for a 2-yard touchdown on a pass play during the second
half of an NCAA college football game, Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, in Gainesville,
    Fla.

Kyle Pitts was feeling a little jittery before his first game in three weeks.

His chest “got hot” and his heart started beating fast. Once he stepped on the field and saw one-on-one coverage, his eyes had to widen as well.

Pitts scored three touchdowns in his return from a concussion and a broken nose — all on perfect passes from Heisman Trophy front-runner Kyle Trask — and No. 6 Florida overcame a sluggish start to beat Kentucky 34-10 Saturday in the Swamp.

Mond, No. 5 Texas A&M Finish Strong In 31-20 Win Over Auburn

Texas A&M looked every bit the playoff contender with a seemingly unstoppable offense and impenetrable defense — in the fourth quarter, at least.

    And that was plenty.

Kellen Mond passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third and the fifth-ranked Aggies scored 17 points in the fourth quarter of a come-from-behind 31-20 victory over Auburn on Saturday.

No. 5 Texas A&M makes last CFP case in 34-13 win vs. Vols

No. 5 Texas A&M closed its case for inclusion in the College Football Playoff by mauling Tennessee by three touchdowns.

    Then the Aggies started campaigning.

"I haven't lobbied or said a word up until now," Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher said. "We lost to the No. 1 team in the country (Alabama), then won seven games in a row. We can play with anybody.

"We play in the best league in ball. Some teams aren't even playing seven games. They're supposed to pick the best four."

Kellen Mond threw for 281 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 59 yards and a score to lead the Aggies to a 34-13 victory against the Volunteers on Thursday.

Mississippi State beats Tulsa 28-26 in Armed Forces Bowl

A bowl victory that increased Mississippi State's win total this season to four and No. 22 Tulsa's failed attempt to add another unlikely comeback to its impressive collection this season took a back seat to the melee that broke out Thursday shortly after the Armed Forces Bowl ended.

True freshman Will Rogers scored his first rushing touchdown of the season and had a 13-yard TD pass to lead Mississippi State past Tulsa 28-26 in a game that was tense from the start.

Podlesny's FG lifts Georgia past Cincinnati in Peach Bowl

Jack Podlesny told Georgia coaches before Friday's Peach Bowl that he felt confident attempting field goals from as long as 55 yards — a full 4 yards past his career best.

Podlesny made good on his claim, kicking a 53-yard field goal with three seconds remaining, and No. 11 Georgia handed No. 6 Cincinnati its only loss of the season with a dramatic 24-21 victory in the Peach Bowl.

Kentucky runs for 281, beats NC State 23-21 in chippy Gator

Kentucky's postgame locker room provided a scene players and coaches might never forget. They celebrated a third consecutive bowl victory while dedicating it to two guys who couldn't be there.

This one was for late offensive line coach John Schlarman and rehabbing linebacker Chris Oats, who has been battling a significant medical condition since May.

A.J. Rose ran for a career-high 148 yards, Chris Rodriguez added 84 yards and two scores and the Wildcats held off No. 24 North Carolina State 23-21 on Saturday in a chippy TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Corral, Ole Miss take down No. 7 Indiana in Outback Bowl

Even before Mississippi took the field for the Outback Bowl, the Rebels felt good about the direction they're headed.

Coach Lane Kiffin was rewarded with a new contract despite having only been at the school one season. There also was no guarantee one of the nation's lowest-ranked defenses would be able to slow down No. 7 Indiana enough to ensure the team's first non-losing record since 2017.

“It’s really only up from here," quarterback Matt Corral said Saturday after throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns to pace a 26-20 victory that ruined the finish to surprising Indiana's breakout season.

Texas A&M runs past North Carolina in Orange Bowl, 41-27

Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher pulled a hamstring as he tried to avoid the players who wanted to give him a celebratory Gatorade bath.

Luckily, Fisher didn’t have to run in the Orange Bowl.

Devon Achane did more than enough of that for the Aggies.

Achane had two touchdowns in the final 3:44, including a 76-yarder that put Texas A&M ahead to stay, and the fifth-ranked Aggies beat No. 14 North Carolina 41-27 on Saturday night — capping a winless bowl season for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

O'Neal has 2 interceptions, No. 6 Texas A&M routs Kent State

After slogging through an uninspired first half, Texas A&M needed a spark to get going.

The Aggies found it in Leon O'Neal Jr., whose 85-yard interception return for a touchdown helped sixth-ranked Texas A&M pull away in 41-10 win over Kent State on Saturday night.

Jones starts, Richardson shines as No. 13 Florida wins 35-14

Florida coach Dan Mullen insists he has no quarterback controversy: Emory Jones is the starter, and Anthony Richardson remains the backup following a 35-14 victory against Florida Atlantic on Saturday night in which one clearly outplayed the other.

Georgia 56, UAB 7: The Mailman Delivers A Beat Down

Georgia could have come out flat. They could have given UAB some hope that the Blazers could stay in this one, catch a couple of breaks. Maybe even pull a huge upset.

    But they didn’t.

Stetson Bennett delivered on his unexpected opportunity in relief of JT Daniels, completing 10 of 12 passes for 289 yards and 5 touchdowns in a crushing 56-7 defeat of UAB before the first full house in Sanford Stadium in twenty-one months.
