The NBA is losing millions of dollars by not being able to sell actual tickets. They’ve resorted to trying to sell people cardboard.

They’re not gonna give the measly amount they can scrounge up to charity.

Dude, I've been high from that moment on. I question if it was really just sage.

I'm not good at picking out green font. If you are serious, that's a laugh.....

    https://www.si.com/nba/2014/10/06/new-nba-tv-deal-worth-24-billion

They should be offering these cut outs to fans for free. Or donating at LEAST 50%.

You really think $15K for 1500 cut outs is actually going to do ANYTHING to the Blazers profit/loss?

This is kinda like when there was a big surge about major media markets buying out the little ones causing the little ones left to struggle.
Show me ANY local media company struggling. The least profitable are still bringing in 10's of millions a year.

    Sometimes greed looks pretty bad......

YOU GET THE CUTOUT WHEN THE SEASON IS OVER.

THESE THINGS AIN'T FREE, SON. ITS A SOUVINER FOR YOUR FAN CAVE IN THE FUTURE.

Well for one, fans are hurting too. Like the Blazers are the only entity taking a hit?

second you don't get it unless you want to pay for it to be shipped to you.

Thirdly, they make enough in tv contract to cover a 50K cost for some fans to have more reason to tune in. Who has more percent age of income to spend. Blazers? Average Joe?

You have the option to pick it up for free at the end of the season.

If it was free or extremely cheap, everyone would do it. Even non-Blazer fans. Its a barrier to entry.

I say we pool our money for one picture. Everyone should take a picture of themselves, we’ll grab a nose from one, a couple of eyes from others, chin, eyebrows, forehead, etc. and photoshop the pieces into an S2 composite fan.

I'd buy 12,000 cardboard HCPs to fill the arena.

I think you only need 6,000 of those to fill the arena.

Exactly. I could imagine another teams fan base doing this to us and we would have 12k Greg Oden's watching at the Moda.

Could be fun for every team to have a troll night. Would love to see Delonte West X12k watch a Laker game.

Okay. Ill admit. If i see a crapload of whiteside cut outs im not sure i could stop laughing.

or how about all famous people?
Is this unique to the Blazers or are all teams gonna have cardboard cut outs?

Wanna know why im really not for this?

    cause its hasty cheeseball stuff.

I said this somewhere here months Nd months ago about how they could do this right and charge fans.
I would be down to pay my full price for the season if they just installed a camera in my seat controlled remotely based on the movement of my head when i slip on the eye goggles that would them broadcast to me the feed from the camera.
Yes a decently large one time expense to install cameras to every seat in the 100 level for example, but i think it would be the rage to get a game view vibe from my couch. No cramped seats with no place to put drinks( cupholders dont work, thats elbow space).

i think they could have taken this opportunity to change how we view/attend games.
Each camera could have a mic, so in my ears it sounds like im at the game as thousands of people cheer from thier couch.

For those wanting to be seen in seats, they just set up thier camera at home and bam, reverse feed and they are imaged into thier seat at the game.
How they did the digital BLM logos in the bubble showed me this is all feasable.

i just think there are potential long term options that could have been explored to truly provide a game like atmosphere from fans’ homes.

id much rather pay 3k for a pair of goggles thank 100 dollars for some cardboard.

Does anyone think fans will be watching games in the moda this year? It might not happen next year either.
