QUOTE (808Hornetsfan)

My point is these nice ppl paid however much for one of the best forums on the net, so we should have a say in how this forum should look. I mean, you just lost a shit load of members because of the layout believe it or not... may not seem important to you but that was one of the positive things about BBW.

Every mod and admin here has stated that we are open to suggestions....the benefit of this software is that everything is customizable....short of going away from this software, just about any adjustment you want use to make will be considered....please, let us know EXACTLY what you want, and we will do our best to accomodate you

Well i analyzed a few things on this site, and honestly am impressed with a lot of the added features.| This site looks more adult without all the banners and stuff.|

niggaz need to see a few changes.

-Real23 avatars| Bbw members loved them and this large stuff goin on..... does not fit this site quite nicely at all. It's not quite inviting being switched over in the first place to a weird and more technical looking site as this. plus, seeing large blurred avatars make this site look cheap unlike the other forum. Everything was set-up nicely at the other site.. well not everything.

-Logging out| it tookme a while

seeing the flexibility u guys have in designing this site and ur knowledge it shouldn't be tough.

Those are just 2 i thought of quickly.

    adios

You clearly have a good eye and understand what S2 is. I really do appreciate the feedback.

When importing the avatars, I ran into a slight issue with some of them. One guy has a canadian flag that's about half as wide as the page as his avatar. The IPBoards software probably scaled it to avatar size. S2 software limits the avatar size to 175x175 maximum, so that image wouldn't have been allowed to be set as an avatar. The SHORT TERM fix was to force the browser to rescale al the avatars, and I agree it's an ugly (result) solution. I was under a rush at the time, as both sites were down while I made the move. The solution is for me to resize the few avatars that are too large and then remove the bit that is scaling the avatars and everything will look great.

As for avatar size, there are reasons to do smaller sized ones and reasons to do larger sized ones. The small ones may fit in with the technical/adult look of things, but I see users with animated gifs of, say, Pippen dunking over Ewing, and those simply don't look as good postage stamp sized. If you know what I mean [IMG]

I'm not sure why logging out would take you a while. I'm assuming that you didn't realize it was on your user menu?

    Regards

My staying or leaving depends on something than many mentioned, but failed to thrust sufficiently.

Like a pestilence, the idea of the BBW "community" has spread from page to page unaddressed, as many of the technical assurances and an admirably professionalrestraint in dealing with emotional complaints have been established.

I'm not mad at Combs. What's done is done. What's most important for BBW members isthe sanctity of a collective attitude. Onebased on perpetual crudity, endless obscenity, andand above all: honesty. One had the feeling that anything could be discussed - gloves off at times - in the pursuit of telling and selling their own truth. Or faking it, which in turn is a truth in itself.

BBW was a disgusting tribal nation. And we loved it. Adimansion of savagery. And support. True, you admins are very nice, very...sanitary. Nice guys at BBW? That worries me. That place was "Animal House."

I'm making a forum for the refugees of bbw. All staff positions at the forum will be honored and hopefully the community will be moved over, just with a different domain name, skin and we'd have to start over [IMG]. Sucks what happened to everyone here, but i guarantee BBW would not be throw under the bus like this. The skin is still in progress, but I hope you guys will be interested in this. the domain name is www.ballerszone.com . Hopefully this will be the old BBW, with the piece of mind you won't be thrown under the bus again. Thanks

What S2 is and is to become is the sum of all of us. In that sense, the collective attitude. Believe me, I can take off the gloves when it makes sense to.

As you can see, we've done little to censor anything so far. However, there is a limit to what will be permitted once everything settles down and everyone gets familiar with each other. We do want people to be able to use the site at work and not get in trouble due to the content (work-friendly). And while good-natured combative kinds of posting/threads are fine, we also don't want it to go beyond that to outright hateful personal attacks or in some other manner that discourages people from signing up and posting for fear of personal attacks.

Since SportTwo's scrpit is entirely made from scratch, this site is very customizable. If you dislike the layout or the template, please tell us and we will promptly address your concern. Our goal is to work with you guys into developing the best comprehensive sports messageboard in the web, while providing great care and attention to all of the forums that make up this site. One final thought. This is a relatively new site, but most of us aren't new to moderating and developing messageboards. Personally, I had over 16,000 posts in another messageboard that has nearly five million posts and over 25,000 members, but I moved here because of the exciting potential of this site. The people that run this board are very passionate and helpful. The goal is to maintain your community and expand it into a terrific sports community.

I've read half the messages in this thread so far and I can't believe you have to say "please tell us what you dislike and we will change it" Here:

    1. We got sold out

    2. BBW had a nice and easy layout

    3. Sportstwo has a horrible layout

    4. You destroyed the community

    5. It used to be easy to navigate and browse, now its impossible.

Everyone is saying this, and more. You actually have to ask? If you want people to stay, try putting money where your mouth is and I dont mean 20 grand. You're telling us how great the mods are and they're acting like self absorbed better then everyone pricks. A community just got blown up in a day, with no warning and you are moderating people swearing. Not even swearing AT YOU, just swearing in a post, cmon get real. I've seen posts saying how customizable the board is too, if this place got customized back to the old BBW style then maybe people would be willing to stick around but I dont see many people stick with this current layout, built from scratch or not I hope you guys are familiar with "there's no reason to re-invent the wheel".
