That is an interesting point regarding a son playing girl's softball. Besides the precedent, his supposed desire would invite ridicule and taunting from his male friends. It's a psychological situation that would affect his relations with friends, his adversaries, and his family.

Transgender people should have the same right to compete as everyone else. However, they should compete based on their birth gender. If not, the long term legal result could be the disappearance of woman's sports, forcing all genders to compete together.

This really is a locker room problem blown way out of proportion. The real answer is giving transgender people their own locker room, not an unfair advantage, or disadvantage against opponents.

OK. Just don't pretend to support transgender rights when you clearly do not.

    Weak, and faulty.

I know your game and how you play it. Your responses remind me of George Orwell's thought police in his book 1984. No substance, just intimidation to win your agenda goal. Regardless of who you hurt, to get the special unequal treatment you demand.

Just curious but what is her agenda goal and what is the special unequal treatment that you think she is demanding?

I am quite sure that you are correct that "nobody" has the right to dictate what transgendered people do as long as it's legal...I do think that safety is an issue....as a parent it doesn't matter what my sexuality is...I'm a parent...I would never dictate or vote to limit transgendered rights but I would vote against teaching that it's ok for my son to hit a female for sports or any reason at all....I think if I don't it says it's ok for men to hit women....I don't think it is. I'll live with that and own it...I also understand that some people like to get hit...also something I wouldn't want to promote...

I think it's ok, with their consent, while playing blackjack.

If a female wants to play against anyone it is not just fine it’s awesome

the only part of this I cringed at was the “women are more xyz emotionally vs men” and some shit about emotions or parenting. This is not 1950.

Such a ridiculous comparison. What is interesting is that EXACT argument could be made against biological trans men demanding they should be able to compete in a vastly less competitive field of women athletes.

What if a male wants to play against anyone, including females who aren’t ok with it?

My sister chose to join the wrestling team in high school, she knew she’d be at a disadvantage but wanted to anyway. That’s not the same as a biological male joining women’s MMA and beating the fuck out of a bunch of women. It’s quite literally the opposite. It’s accepting a disadvantage rather than demanding an advantage.

    I wonder that myself!

When members of the dominant group presume the right to dictate to the marginalized what they should be permitted to do and what constitutes responsible behavior, that is not support, it's privilege.

Thats why I wrote (and I think this entire thread is about) if a woman wants to play against a man. If a man wants to play vs a woman, and she doesnt want to, then she doesnt. If a trans man wants to be in the women's competition, I think each competitor should have to agree to it. I don't know the answer to it. Its fuzzy. If you oppose it you come across as a bad person when in reality you're just concerned with a biologically stronger person who could hurt a woman.

I just think it's weird how all of the focus in this thread seems to be about boxing and mma and physical violence. The focus on two sports there isn't generally tons of participation in compared to track and field events, ball sports, general "high school" participation type of sports.
