After hearing the MLB Staff critique the Yankees moves or lack thereof here comes Boone on High Heat praising Cashmans acquisition. Cole pitched more innings last season alone than the "new guys" on board. Signing DJ was a hold serve on a lineup that has not shown up much at game time then adding poor performance when they do. . With this team it may be a season of think worst hope for the best. Just too many ifs with the same old crew in charge holding too many bottles that need lightening.
I'm still not satisfied with the SS situation...Torres regressed offensively last year and has never been anywhere near good at SS defensively...he's a mediocre 2Bman playing SS. I was hoping the Yanx would either bring back DD or find another SS and move Torres back to 2B where he belongs and have DJ play 1B, because I'm not sold on Voit. Either that or platoon DJ/Voit at 1B/DH with DJ at 1B vs lineups that feature a lot of LHed batters. Also don't think Sanchez will ever be as good as we'd hoped. ...hope I'm wrong.
At “our age” we should be held in high esteem even for the simple reason that we have reached our age through many challenges. And for that alone I salute you.
Another year of Boner bullshitting us with an under-achieving ball club, I’m already getting a headache!
Official it is, one year at 4 million with an option for 2022. No matter how many Harris Roach Tablets are placed on the Yankees Diamond Gardner the Cockroach stll survives. One thing he is though is the last of the Yankee Champs. In '19 he played more games than alleged studs Judge and Stanton with a career high in bombs. Ain't saying this signing is right but it is so. If his (Gardners) manager will use him as a fifth out fielder then it could be OK.
According to "Mad Dog" Boone is highly thought of by the Yankee Organization though I'd have to wonder how. The fact that this Yankee Team was thumped by Tampa in both regular and post '20 season was almost as poor as the '04 loss against Boston. I went over game by game recaps finding Boone had made some really bad moves. Letting Girardi go, hiring Boone, and acquiring Stanton were 3 major mistakes in '18
