I owned two homes in Portland and only moved three years ago. it takes recognition its bad before anything can get done. Your missing the point. Some people here say it isnt bad. If things need to be foxed it must be bad, eh?
unm i grew up in the city limits. Graduated highschool in the city limits. Owned multiple homes in the city limits. LIVED down town. My wife worked downtown for 20 years until two years ago. No one has shown its not everywhere. Ive posted pictures of it all over and you dismissed it. Not even gonna take you serious anymore.
Well, HCP showed a picture of his neighborhood, and it isn't there. I can show pictures of my area and show it isn't here. There's plenty of places where homelessness and trash ISN'T in the city. Which obviously shows it isn't EVERYWHERE.

did i ever call it a war zone or third world country? i do not beleive i did. Yet when i post an article, Im targeted by some people here as if i wrote it. its ridiculously fucked up. So when i got attacked a while back, i posted pictures i took of some bad areas. I got crickets from some of those same people who come at me about the recent link i posted. Does it get any more hypocritical? I mean get this? The other day i posted something and got a bunch of pushback. I further clarified myself and got further pushback. Then phatguyarule, quotes my post and says he agrees with everything. The same people who pushed back on my post, liked his post!!! what the fuck kind of ass backwards double standard hypocritical bullshit is that? And nOw some of these same people are saying im bitching aBout how it is because i posted a couple links?? Fucking romper room around here i tell ya!!! lol.

Its bad. All of the hoards of homeless people tells me our system has failed us. The ugly truth about capitalism is there has to be people who fall out of the bottom for people to be on top. And there is no safety net. Yes, it needs to be fixed. We need functioning action, a true fix, not simply making homelessness be illegal, or arresting homelessness people, or redirecting them to the outskirts of the city, or putting them on busses out of town to be other cities problems. We need actualization, not sweeping a problem under the rug and trying to hide it in plain sight. We need to treat them like fucking human beings and not a burden. Its not about, oh my town looks trashed I don't want to have to see this. Its about understanding look at these people out on the street dirty and starving. These people we have failed and doing something about it. When I say its not as bad as its being made out to be, I am speaking of the violence aspect. Most homeless people aren't violent. Most of the violence in our city comes from gangs not from homeless people and that is a different issue all together.
