I heard him swear like a sailor in a short video on youtube. I'm sure it's still out there. Those guys make their money off the TV show not the profits from selling the refurbished cars. I've always thought Mike sold his cars too cheap. In fact, I've often wondered if I could buy some of his cars. I know which ones I'd covet starting with the English and Italian sports cars.
My favorite episode was when they refurbished a mid 60's Pontiac GTO and drove in through the desert.
Lanny: I read it was a Pratt and Whitney. Remember the WW2 P&W radial 2800- 2000HP engines used in the F6F Hell Cats and F4UCorsairs.? I am still astonished we geared up so quick after 12/7/41.
No effin' clue where you came to this conclusion - but it is not likely to be true - Ed was there from the start when the show had a much smaller budget - there were no other people to do most of the work. I have no objection to Ant at all, but let's be fair here - Ed is not the one that married another TV presenter and divorced her after 2 years - so I would argue that he is less of a 'show business' person than Ant. As for filthy mouth or not - I met him briefly once and he was very nice indeed.
Wow, reading these Ed and Ant posts makes me feel like I walked a mile in @THE HCP's shoes. No clue what you're talking about. #BAM!
Really? where'd you hear that? What I heard as that Mike wanted to change the show and Edd didn't. I.e., change most of the show was about, to more about making it a 'reality' show (the show now vs when it was with Edd for example) and Edd wanted to make it as show about cars and how they're fixed. Mike comes off as a phony salesman. I followed him for a while on Facebook (or at least the FB page that is his official one) and it was just shill shill shill. Still like the show (like both Ant and Edd, tho I prefer Edd). but Mike was the salesman who wanted all the credit. tah-la!
I think it was Discovery which wanted to make the show more Americanized with more fluff and less wrenching - and that's why Edd left.
I told you, I saw a video of him doing it. Sorry that you think I'm lying. I bullshit but I do not lie, not now, not ever. I grew up never lying and my status as a registered professional engineer bound me to that oath throughout all of my adult life. Please, say that you find it hard to believe but do not say it's factually false because it just isn't.
Here's what you said to me: "No effin' clue where you came to this conclusion - but it is not likely to be true..."
What i said here is that I do not believe that interpretation, not that you lie. I do it believe it makes sense that edd did not do the work given what we have seen on tv and knowledge of how that show started with a small budget. Frankly, that is different from saying that you lied, but if you took it as such, I apologize - but what I clearly meant was that I think that conclusion is wrong and unlikely. How can I say that you lie about it - unless you said that you know for a fact that he did not do most of the work - (which you did not). I assumed it was your interpretation, maybe based on something that you heard - and I voiced my disbelief in this conclusion.
Which means exactly what it says, no clue how you took the known information and got to this conclusion. I questioned your interpretation and still do. If you still think this means I said you lie, I will repeat - no clue how you got to this new conclusion. Sorry Lanny, this one is on you. I am done with this one.
