It's fucked up that this article says that teams that have had games PPD are going to have even more compacted schedules in the second half of the season. They're already beating the brakes off of these guys this season.

Shit, we are lucky. Some of these teams have missed like 5 games.

Didn't we already make up one of two games that were postponed? Played at WAS.

I'm not sure but we will end the first half with 35 games played which means we will have to play 37 in the second half... for whatever that's worth.

I don’t think so. I think they postponed a game that had been on the schedule when they added the Wizards game...Charlotte?

Edit: Yup. The game against the Hornets scheduled for January 27 was bumped to the second half of the season, so the Blazers still have to make up the 2 games they missed against Memphis.

The thing about missing games was it was an absolute blessing for this team when it happened. Since that short break they have gone 10-4. Granted they lost a couple close games to OKC and one at Houston. It very well could have been 12-2.
That break allowed them to rest a bit and work on some defense in the gym.

Ya league sent out a memo putting things on hold til Monday or Tuesday because they just had to cancel a few games day before yesterday and they now have to adjust. Oh well. At least ESPN got it wrong also.

TRAIL BLAZERS 2020-21 SECOND HALF SCHEDULE RELEASED

Portland scheduled to play 37 games to complete 72-game season

PORTLAND, Ore. (February 24, 2021)The Portland Trail Blazers will begin the Second Half of the 2020-21 season on March 11 against the Phoenix Suns, it was announced today by the NBA.

The Trail Blazers are scheduled to play 37 games to complete the 72-game 2020-21 NBA season. The Second Half will feature 19 games at Moda Center and 18 games on the road. Portland will close out the regular season with a home game against Denver on May 16.

Portland’s longest homestand of the Second Half schedule occurs from March 16 to March 23, with two games each against New Orleans (March 16 and 18) and Dallas (March 19 and 21) followed by Brooklyn’s lone visit to Portland this season on March 23. The Trail Blazers will embark on two extended road trips this spring: a four-game swing through Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Detroit from March 25-31 and a six-game trip to Indiana, Memphis, Brooklyn, Boston, Atlanta and Cleveland spanning April 27 to May 5.

All 37 of the announced games will be televised by NBC Sports Northwest (NBCSNW), the Official Network of the Portland Trail Blazers, or national carriers and aired on flagship station NBCSNW Rip City Radio AM-620 and the Deschutes Brewery Trail Blazers Radio Network. “Blazers Pregame Live” will air prior to every regular season game on NBCSNW with “Blazers Postgame Live” immediately following each contest. In addition, every Trail Blazers game telecast will be live streamed to authenticated NBC Sports Northwest subscribers via NBCSportsNorthwest.com and the “MyTeams by NBC Sports” app.

Four of Portland’s Second Half games will appear on national television, with TNT broadcasting home games against New Orleans (March 16), Boston (April 13) and the LA Clippers (April 20) and a road game at Miami (March 25).

I don't think any teams will be making a second-half push given how condensed that schedule is ... 37 games in 67 days? We're about to see some bad basketball across the league. Teams that handled business in the first-half (and can stay healthy) will be sitting pretty come May.

Best Case Scenario for the Blazers: Have Utah hold serve at 1, hang on to 4/5, and pray the Lakers don't drop into that 1st round matchup.

So many variables make it nearly impossible to breakdown the difficulty of our 2nd half schedule.

I just hope we get healthy soon, consoliadate talent, and start to gel in hopes we can win a series in the playoffs.
