Sorry Grevy, Callahan acted like he was auditioning for a Rangers front office job- - great skills, gonna hurt the Rangers to lose him. Hartnell - I played 2 decades of NHL hockey for multiple organizations and never heard of a player with such a negative rep. Fartsmell's no Rangers lover and he was definitely tweaking Cally but this trade would be Tony's 4th team? It's on youtube feb 1st nhl tonite
This article makes me feel a little bad for DeAngelo. No doubt he has been his own worst enemy, and he owns up to that and accepts responsibility for it, but some of the stuff appears to be way over the top and unfair. https://nypost.com/2021/02/13/ex-rangers-player-tony-deangelo-bares-soul-in-interview/
Like I said, the coach is losing the team. His latest remarks reek of a coach desperate to save his job who has lost the respect of his team. You bench Gauthier for 5 games but refuse to bench one of your top vets who have played like shit all season long. Please, please, fire this retard JD and Gorton.
Quinn is losing the team because DeAngelo gets into a physical altercation with one of his teammates? The same DeAngelo who has been suspended many times in his hockey career, and clearly has some anger issues, which he admits. Yeah - that makes perfect sense. Wrong again, add it to your long list.
Not for nothing but regardless who the coach is there will be calls to fire him after a season or two. It loses its meaning at this point. The offense is certainly disappointing but it's not like this team is getting blown out every night. They have seven one goal loses which shows they're definitely competing.
Of course that is the case 717. Some of the folks on here know no other way though. Rinse and repeat. We had a solid O last season. We had the # 4 ranked PP last season. Our D is much more fundamentally sound this season. We are more structured in our own end this season. What's the difference - vets like Z, Kreider, and Strome need to step up their games big time. Sometimes it isn't that complicated. If they play up to their level we have 4-6 points more right now. That's what this team needs, not a new coach. Rational fans know that.
At this point, unless they get a really good offer and don't have to retain a lot of salary or take on a bad contract, I think they'll just buy him out this summer. Buying him out this summer is not a bad thing IMO. We save 4.4 on DeAngelo next season, and only have 900 K of dead money the following season. That means Gorton should only deal DeAngelo from a position of strength, and should not eat anything more than a mill or so next season to facilitate a trade if it is a good deal for the team.
Maybe they did but JD and Gorton wanted more. I assume that is what happened. Me, I'd gladly do DeAngelo and Howden for Bennett and a 2nd. Bennett shows up in the playoffs big time. He's mean too which we need more of. I've seen enough of Howden. He needs to go. Same with Di Guiseppe. At least Richards or Barron need to be up now.
