I realize this isn't a silhouette of any kind but I feel like it sends a strong message that the NBA is an organization with integrity. This should be the NBA logo and everyone would buy the t-shirts, the socks and the hats with this logo on it. Honestly, since the NBA is so interested in being a global brand I would suggest something like this but just white for the bodies of water. Fuck showing a player. ... or just maybe forget about all of this nonsense and leave it since the logo has nothing to do with the player or his race and is already iconic.
Positions weren't quite as stratified back then. Jerry West could be viewed today as either a shooting guard or a point guard. Same for someone like Oscar Robertson. If Michael Jordan played in the 1960s, he might have played a role like Roberston and West (main play-maker) and viewed as a point guard by some, just as they are. I think when it comes to the Lakers, you have three guards for two spots, though if Magic Johnson claims one of the spots (as I think he should), he's clearly a point guard. West or Kobe could easily be slotted in alongside Magic.
Jerry West has represented the NBA with class and excellence for over half a century. Hard to match what he has done on and off the court for so long. But I really don't care.....as long as it isn't Kobe. MJ seems like a better candidate.
Even MJ, as awesome as he was on a court, was a pretty big piece of shit off the court. I mean, I don't think he raped anyone, but he was kind of a tool.
What WOULD be the Lakers' starting 5? Centers: Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, Mikan (that really should be 4 of the starting 5) Forwards: Elgin Baylor, LeBron, maaaybe Pau, Worthy Guards: Magic, West, Kobe
Shaq LeBron West Magic Kobe Very close to picking him a a starter but he will best suit the team as their 6th Man-
