Is that how you pronounce this?

Does this have something to do with Generation X as well? Or is this all generations young and old?

I had a good friend in college that was from Africa, he was the son of a tribal chief and he thought it strange that a man here, would marry a women without first being pregnant, I told him it happens a lot. I was engaged and he wanted to know if she was pregnant yet, I said, not that I know and laughed. In his tribe a man doesn't marry tell a women can prove she can produce offspring. Wild and cool that different cultures have different customs and that people could relocate to wherever fit their fancy and lined up wit their way of thinking and living.
