I think his biggest contribution to the NFL is his coaching family tree....his branch includes Siefert, Holmgren, Gruden, Mariucci, Reid, Morningweg, Jauron....Im sure there is more...
I lived in the SF Bay area during the years he was first coach and then turned the reins over to Mariucci. Looked like good people in every setting I saw him in. And he was clearly a brilliant coach and evaluator of talent.</p> RIP, we'll miss you.</p> </p>
Still can't believe Paul Brown didn't realize who he had and didn't make him head coach of the Bengals. If that had happened, it would have been the Mid-West offense
RIP Bill Walsh</p> Hope his family is doing okay.</p> He was arguably the best offensive coach this league has ever seen. He was that good in my opinion.</p>

One of my favorite NFL Films segments was one where they had Walsh discussing the techniques of several legendary QBs. You could hear his passion for the game.
