This would make a lot of sense for both teams.

    upload_2021-3-5_11-31-40.png

    Dame/Rondo
    CJ/Simons
    RoCo/DJJ/Little
    Collins/Melo
    Nurk/Kanter

It fixes a lot of the issues with trying to play Simons at point guard. He can shift to his natural shooting guard position.

    I would LOVE that, but I don't think it's happening :(

It’s nice to see people see him for what he is. A one-dimensional player who offers nothing other than good 3pt shooting. He’s Wes Matthews without the defense.

I totally agree with this, but knowing blazers luck, Dame will be that disgruntled star.

This is ridiculous. Many guys in this thread keep saying that Trent will get $15-20 million per year. Yuyuza said it over and over.

My prediction: Trent at best will get a Derrick Jones Jr. contract, $9M/yr. At most. We can keep him. It's Hood who needs to go at the Midseason Trade Deadline.

    WHAT THE FUCK!

    25 !!!

I thought you were a sober stats guy.

DJJ only got 9 million a year because he couldn’t shoot.

Maybe we get Rondo and Collins for Trent and Hood? No additional draft picks required.

Unless he blows out his knee, he'll be getting over $9m/year.

Majority of the team is into stats right now Trent offense stats is pretty good but there a lot weakness on the offense side they are not a great passer and not a good rebounder for his position. Defensely his stats are his worst defender we got that if someone looking at his stats. But what I see about his defense he opened up on the defense that's make easy to go around plus his stats properly would be better if we a rim protector behind him but that could be the case about majority of the players. I don't see him getting no more 12 on the high end and maybe 9 on the low end. But his agent will try to get more but I just don't there will be anyone actually bit this year just because the money situation from virus.

I'm a stats guy, but how the hell did you get the idea I was ever sober?

and, every time you think Trent will only get paid what he's worth, say Crabbe....or hell, say Turner. Or Chandler Parsons. There always seems to be one brain-dead GM....often in Portland

He could be good at Defense but with Stotts we'll never know.

What’s your point? Sounds like the same people who claimed that Sergio Rodriguez would develop a 3pt shot as he got older. Let someone else waste money on a long Trent contract. He’s less than average now based on all comparative advanced stats.

Thank God Olshey is the GM not you or CJ would’ve already been traded even though CJ IS BETTER THAN TRENT IN EVERY FACET OF THE GAME. Glad you see that now.

You don't let talent like Trent walk for nothing in a small market.

Pay the man. He's a plus on the court.

Yup. I still love Trent but I’m glad we got to see him more and like I been saying even before Cj got hurt he’s not close to the value Cj is.

    And again his defense, ehhh

I don't believe it makes sense for the Hawks. They have Huerter, Bogdanovic, Reddish and Hunter for the SG/SF positions. They don't really need another wing. And that is selling Collins hella cheap, it won't happen. We are basically giving them nothing of value since Trent is also up for a new contract so it's not like they save a lot of money.

This is a very bad trade for the Hawks since they have complete control over one of the best PFs in the league.

Shit! No one is saying that Gary is better than CJ but the team just isn't worse enough with Gary playing instead of CJ to justify keeping CJ, in my opinion. I think Gary's defense was overrated but now this forum has swung the other way and are underrating that part of his game. He is the better defender between him and CJ... especially next to Dame. On offense the reason we haven't seen the fall off is because Gary does what a teammate of Dame's should do... which is shoot the open shots. The ball doesn't stall nearly as badly with Gary as it does with CJ.

Gary is far far far less valuable as a basketball player than CJ but he is only far less valuable to this team. Therefore Gary should stay because he doesn't have anywhere close to the trade value that CJ has and there isn't a big enough drop off in our performance to justify not getting a more complementary second option than CJ is in a trade in which CJ goes out.

I could be wrong about all of this because maybe Gary's trade value is really high around the league and that would make this argument void. If you can get the same thing for Gary as you can for CJ (even if he is MeJ) then you keep CJ.
