He was simply one of the best boxers I ever saw...and a class act too; https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/31059483/marvin-hagler-middleweight-boxing-great-dies-66
I loved those Hagler-Hearns-Sugar Ray fights! As hod as boxing got. I have to include Roberto "hands of stone" Duran too.
Pound for pound he was definitely one of the best ever. His fight with Hearns is the greatest three rounds you will ever see.
The Greatest boxer ever to lace em up in my view....jobbed by Sugar Ray in what became his final match...he clearly beat Sugar Ray....beat Roberto Duran....he boxed left and right handed...had about 60 some matches and outright won 62 of them..had a couple draws and then the Sugar Ray theft of his win....RIP
Duran was one of my favs too...and yeah, Hearns got hosed in that Leonard match. I remember that in the bout with Duran, Hearns had a 12 inch reach advantage over Duran...Roberto never had a chance.
Agreed, from start to finish, non-stop action. Hagler was badly cut and I think he knew there was a chance the Ref might stop the fight, and that's when Hagler really went after Hearns.
