Only teams interested in trading for Trent are those willing to match overpriced RFA offers. Can't imagine that list was long.
Well, really I was thinking more along the lines of trading him for someone that ISN'T a free agent after this year.
So anyone who doesn't have an NBA resume' can't question what is going on or point out the cold hard facts? I would submit that is a bit weak....
Another note on Powell: He's an NBA champion. And he plays balls out. Hopefully he can help solve some of the effort problems we see with this team from game to game.
Serious question - do you think all people who have been employed in the NBA were good at their job? Did you think that Patterson and Nash were good?
Wait, is that your answer to why you trust two guys who are literally setting records for longevity without success? I'm not saying that I know better than them, I'm saying there are a lot of actual basketball professionals (see Olshey's bio) better suited than Neil and a lot of coaches that would give a perspective that Stotts is lacking.
God, I knew it at the time and I know it now. That playoff run killed our future with Dame. It set an unrealistic expectation of what the team could accomplish because we beat up on a shitty opponent in the first round and we barely squeaked past an inexperienced young Nuggets team in the second round. We got exposed and dismissed by an injured Warriors team in the WCF. That was not a successful postseason. It was fools gold.
We didn't win one game. Do you know that there has never been a head coach in the history of this league that has been employed by the same team for nine years without winning a conference finals game. I do not blindly follow any one source, especially sources that have held onto jobs for far too long with far too little success. I read everything I can, listen to as many people as I can who have dedicated their entire lives to basketball (former players, coaches, gms and journalists) and you're saying I should blindly listen to a 56 year old failed actor who didn't get into professional basketball until 2003?
I think he gives us a more efficient scorer and better all-around player than Trent. Hopefully he makes Neil feel more secure about pursuing a CJ trade.
To be fair, believing that Neil and Terry do not know more than others based on access to knowledge that is not public is just as weak... If anything, if they managed to keep their job for that long with only moderate success on average - maybe their bosses either believe that they know more than you think - or the problem really lies somewhere else...
