Well this can give Olshey now reason to trade CJ in the off season because powell might be better along side Dame. But we will see how works out the rest of the season. Plus big Nurk will back tomorrow and maybe Zach might for the playoffs. Now the trade deadline is done now the players can focusing to play basketball.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I think Powell should be a starter. Yeah, he's "short"...but while wings can shoot over his head, can they shoot over his arms, when he has a 6'11'' wingspan?

    PG: Lillard
    SG: McCollum
    SF: Powell
    PF: Covington
    C: Nurkic

I think that gets Portland's best five on the court, with three good defenders (granted, Nurkic's defense isn't ideal for containing pick-and-rolls) and plenty of shooting.

I expect this will be the closing lineup, except in those few games Stotts is senile and plays Melo over Nurkic.

    To be honest I think

    Lillard
    Powell
    Jones
    Covington
    Nurkic

May actually be better all things considered. But whatever. Will never happen.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Powell start over DJJ.

Along with Nurk returning it could give us much better defensive balance on the starting and backup units.

    Nurk Kanter
    RoCo Melo
    Powell DJJ
    CJ
    Dame Simons

I think ultimately the team might be best with one of Kanter or Melo getting DNP.... Not sure how they can do that as Melo and Kanter have done whatever the team has asked.

Powell provides more offense, we need one bench scorer in Melo or Kanter but I dont think we need both.

if it really meant something, he’d have done it before the deal.

like Gordon following a bunch of Celtics when it looked like he might be headed there.

I would rather see a three guard lineup of Dame CJ and Powell rather then relying on Ant. Go with the SF of DJJ and Nas with Powell sliding in there on occasion too.

pretty obvious Powell is generally an upgrade over Trent

but he doesn't significantly alter Portland's trajectory. Maybe the Blazers can strike real gold in the buyout market that complements the addition of Powell

tell us what’s wrong with the team. I saw horrible defense out of our backcourt - now improved - and we need depth and defense from a Center position. Too much hope being placed on Nurkic and I’d have hoped we could have napped McGee to help. But the buyout market may be where we get our help.

I didn't think Trent was as good as advertised on D, but is Powell better? Not according to his dire DRPM.

But could you have signed Evan Turner to that ridiculous amount of money when no one else was CLOSE to offering that much?

And I’d swap Kanter for Nurkic in that Starting lineup

I could not. But I would've known I had to clear cap space before offering it. Or lying and saying that I sent it to the League Office :)

Been Swamped, still swamped, still miss most of you clowns. Couldn't let today pass without a drive-by. Back to your originally scheduled programming...
