That isn't what i said at all.
I said "Zach does indeed change this team."
Rarely healthy is wrong as well. first 2 years 143 games out of a possible 164. That is over 87% availability rate. He had a season ending injury. It happens.
Because people on here seem to think stats are the get all lets check those? Zach averages 3 fouls a game and 4 per 36. So really he doesn't really foul too much now does he? He plays the PF/Center position. Enes kanter averages less fouls but can you see why? Nurk averages about 3 a game and 4 in 36 as well. If you are playing defense in this league you will be called for fouls.
Now lets talk about rebounding. He brings another 6-7 rebounds a game with about a third of those being offensive. This could easily be 9 pts-8rebs and i would expect him to eventually average somewhere near a double double as he was already at 7-6.
He's 6-11 and over 250 lbs. This kid has not even begun to make his impact yet. His shoulder has healed and his foot will eventually heal. He will get back on the court and you will see exactly how much having another defensive PF that can also hit a shot from anywhere on the court will help this team. He will replace Kanter and can play along side either Nurk or Melo.
He just might be the Missing Piece. I'm willing to see what happens.

Zach being available is an upgrade in terms of giving the Blazers a little different look at the 4 or the 5. If the Blazers decided to play a healthy Lakers team, they could play them more on LA's terms at least for some stretches because they wouldn't be at as much risk as being punished inside. Theoretically, you could play him with Nurk and RoCo and then your two smaller scoring guards so you've got a pretty good combination of offense and defense.

I'd see it as a situational thing, though. Something you might do in a 5 or 6 minute stretch. I don't think the Blazers would use it as a primary lineup, but it's a nice card to have in your deck.

As many combinations for situational match ups that you can get is always a good thing. I agree not Primary but useful.
Heck having Melo in certain situations has been very useful as well.

As long as you can get guys to buy into roles, having players that can on occasion allow you to match up better with a certain opponent or to impose something on your opponent for which they have difficulty matching is a huge advantage.

Right now, the Blazers can put a lineup on the floor that realistically can give you a 20-point per game scorer at all 5 positions without one player really being superfluous with another. They have three guards who can all score 20 in the same game different ways ... name a team in the NBA with the perimeter defense to handle that. With Collins, they can put a lineup on the floor that would either give you potentially dominating defenders at all three forwards, two of who can guard multiple positions.

I want Collins back by the playoffs for just that reason. Situationally, he makes the Blazers that much more difficult a match up and something opponents have to prepare for.

The NBA is just flat stupid right now.

I've said for years (really, ever since Payton and Malone signed with the Lakers in 2004) that the superstar players have all the leverage, since the money they make from their contracts is dwarfed by the money they make from endorsements. One of these years, all of them are going to pick a big market team like the Nets, Knicks, Bulls, or Lakers/Clippers and just sign vet min contracts with them in order to win a ring (or rings). Do they give a shit about "legacy"? No. They will have achieved what the media and sports fans in general have said for the last 30 years is the end-all, be-all of professional sports: a title winner.

Now, what Brooklyn is doing this year isn't quite at that level yet, but it's just one more step to the NBA being one Harlem Globetrotters and 29 Washington Generals.

Wow, Moses Brown has been ballin. He has 19 points and 20 rebounds with more than half the 3rd quarter remaining against Boston.

He did a work out pre draft with Portland and there was a lot of talk of him signing with Portland. He went ubdrafted and the Blazers had a chance to sign him but opted not to.

seeing Brown last year, I wasn't sure he'd even have an NBA career. He's averaged 14 points and 17 rebounds over the last 4 games. That's not a career, but it's sure a sign he belongs on an NBA floor

I was excited about Moses when we signed him. I saw his potential. Neil shit the bed. Though Moses probably wouldn't have been able to break out here in Portland. Stotts would never have played him enough minutes.
