    ...again?

    44 pt game...

    Set Raptor’s all-time +/- for a game...

    Hit a game winner...

Powell and GTJ are similar in a lot of ways with the difference being, and it’s a biggie, is the killer instinct that Gary has shown at the ripe age of 22.

Trent would not have re-signed here anyway. Perhaps we should have traded CJ instead of him though which I would have been ok with.

I think we'll be able to rank this move with a much greater perspective this summer.

If Olshey lets Powell walk for nothing, then it will be another failure.

Last game he was 6 points 1 rebound in 39 minutes.

His PER before this game with the raps was 8.9. True shooting 48%. This will bring him back to where he was with us. He’s basically the same player.

All that and on 17/19 FG. Amazing night by GTJ. The team may regret the decision to trade him (and not CJ).

    Hello darkness, my old friend
    Great night, mediocre player.

I could be wrong about his ultimate level, but one career night doesn't make me think I'm wrong.

Not really, but if he’s doing that every night next year on a near max contract, then probably. So it’s a wait and see since 1 game is too small

We all watched Trent streak his way into the lineup. Then we all watched Trent go into one of the longest shooting droughts a player has had this year on this team.
Trent seems like he plays on adrenaline and loves to make his mark but soon he gets stagnant. Not sure this 44 points is more than a hot shooting night.

It also was against the Cavs which is a bad team in the east. They play the Knicks tomorrow. Lets look again after that game.
Kanter just hammered the Pistons for 24-30.

Only 15 other times, before Kanter tonight, has a player had 30 boards in a game over the last ~40 years.

you dont trade cj mccollum (unless you get equally good player or better) while you have dame lillard, simple as that

you dont pay a lot of money to three guards, it makes no sense, so gtj had to go, it was the right choice

the only chance blazers re-sign powell is if he shows he can play well at small forward, otherwise it will be similar sitation as it was with gtj, difference being that powell will be ufa if he opts out, which he will

If he continues to do this every night, and Powell continues to score in single digits with 5 TOs, then yes.

Uh....the Pistons that you mentione that Kanter just hammered for 24/30....are 3.5 games behings the 'bad' Cavs that Trent scored his 44 points against.

On any trade with a player that makes a lot of money do you really get equal value in that trade. I really believe if you going to fire the coach you probably have to get rid of your star players. The reason Dame and CJ are so bake how they do thing on the court can they actually change there game with a new coach. Can a new rein in them in to not go iso so much that's take the players game away from them. If Stotts go I think CJ has to go too because I don't see Dame going anywheres

So isn’t the point the same? Kanter is a really good rebounder, but I’m not expecting him to put up the kind of numbers on a nightly basis that he did against the woeful Pistons. Gary can be a good scorer, but I don’t expect he’s going to put up the kind of numbers he did last night against better competition. I think he has a bright future and Toronto got a solid prospect for their starting 2 guard. From what we’ve seen over the past few seasons, I think we know that Trent is a good shooter, but he’s streaky. I see him as being more of a Wesley Matthews than an All Star.

No. He didn't fuck up. He needed to make a move, period. He is also shooting for a post game run and feels a champion Powell and his vet experience will supersede Trent's lack of.

Problem is he is allowing Stott's to use Powell completely wrong. Stotts has too much of a leach and if it doesn't get reigned in immediately, we have lost.

I used to like Stotts. I now see him as the bulk of the problem with Olshey being an enabler by allowing Stotts too much leeway. Olshey has brought in players that may work together IF used correctly. Sotts is taking the players and tossing them against the wall and the five that stick are the starters.

    Fuck Stotts.

Look at big sample sizes. Come on guys. Haven't any of you taken Stats class before? Lol.

Besides, whether we had his rights or not, he was gonna command too much. I think Olshey should be fired along with stotts, but not for something like this.
