Quick might be a little simple. He has to do it in a window after the trap has been committed to but before it's smothered him because if he just makes a quick decision we are in a situation where we can't take advantage of the 4 on 3 and they can play ball denial against Dame... taking out our best option. I really hope we see him getting it this season having practiced against a trap of RoCo and DJJ.

I've kind of written off Derrick at this point. I love the dunks and occasional blocks, but he just doesn't seem to help much out there. I'm not seeing the defense. He's not a terrible three point shooter, but I'd rather give all his minutes to Nassir Little and even a few to Elleby. I think Jones is all sizzle and no steak. Anyone got stats to prove me wrong?

I think he could be better but we basicly knew Stotts wouldn't use him right. I don't think it’s Jones' fault

Did Spoelstra not use him right either?

    C'mon.
That is just not fair. Spoelstra didn't know what he had for three years. Stotts never won a championship either. Spoelstra has earned the right to get mediocre results from a mediocre player. Stotts has not earned that right!

Olshey can only hope that this is what Jones thinks; and as a consequence Jones will not exercise his option.

djj could offer more, if that idiot of the coach would play him the right way

djj should play a lot with nurk and cut to the basket often

You'd think this would've been a good strategy with Bam, but I guess that idiot Spoelstra didn't see it

i can speak only for stotts, cause i saw what nurk did with dame, cj mccollum, harkless, aminu, vonleh and layman cutting to the basket and we can do that with djj

nurk is that guy that can change entire look of one teams offense with his passing from both low and high post, why arent we doing that often is a mystery for me

stotts put djj in the corner to shoot threes and hes not even average 3-point shooter

Maybe Nurk is getting into shape again and working with him to do this? Maybe they need a little more time to get things rolling?
I watched last game pretty close. Nurk is way better this week than last.

His advanced stats are better than Melo's. He's young and still likely to improve. His 3 point % is up from around 29% career to 33% this year.

Funny I want Powell to play with Nurk so he can get some more shots. I guess everyone should play with Nurk (except Melo).

What it really means is I want DJ and Little to take all of Melo's minutes. But DJ advanced stats are also better than Little's... though I don't really buy it as I don't think Nas has been used enough for him really gel.

I'm with you for the most part, except if it's Blazer ball, all tied up, and Dame, CJ and Kanter have fouled out. Melo can still get his shot off on ANYbody.

Agreed. Trouble is, every time he seems to get into a groove, he hurts himself or gets sick.

According to Stotts, Melo is also useful if the game is tied and you need a stop. Brad Stevens agrees.

Little, even when he plays I feel like he doesn’t get used or involved enough in the offense. He seems like a great finisher around the rim and through contact.

Hollinger before free-agency began put Jones in a category of what type of contract he should get:

Less than the max but more than the MLE.

    Yikers
