Don't have to. Not many. But we are looking like he needs a few about now. This season is a different animal.
I agree he should sit a couple weeks. We can win games with CJ/Powell backcourt but we can’t win in playoffs without healthy Dame. It would end his MVP campaign but I’m fine with that.
What’s horrible about this season? I’ve really enjoyed it. 31 wins, many of them exciting finishes. Clutch D by RoCo, Dame drawing game winning charges. His 6 points in 8 seconds vs Chicago. The comeback from 17 down with 5 minutes to play vs Pelicans. He’s considered a top 3 MVP candidate right now and you can’t take this kind of a season for granted. We saw Gary Trent bury the Lakers in threes. That was fun. We torched the Sixers with Dame/CJ/Nurk out and Elleby leading the way. We saw Kanter grab a franchise record 30 rebounds in a single game. CJ’s game winner vs Toronto was ridiculous. There have been disappointing losses yes but the good outweighs the bad. Remember, we were 8 or 9 games below .500 at this time last year. The team is flawed yes but if everyone gets healthy and Nurkic rounds himself into form, anything is possible in this year’s playoffs. There are only 8 teams with a better record right now. If you’d rather a team with a shit record and a “bright future,” go become a Sacramento Kings fan and buy yourself a Marvin Bagley jersey. I’m sure you’d enjoy that. And leave us alone.
You have found a way to make our offense worse while simultaneously also making our defense the same. Most impressive.
not sure I agree with that, Im thinking the ball will be pushed a lot more and more movement from the forwards.
We installed a filter system the moment it started tasting funny, and actually just about all the city's lead pipes have been replaced. We're in better shape than most cities in the country! Related: we've had one of our kids (and lined up an appointment for the other) get a bone scan for lead as part of the settlement.
This is not crazy at all imo. Sure we could lose the whole season in two games (i expect us to finish at least at 8). And now the biggest pro: Dame will be fresh and healthy, and we would face the Jazz or the Suns in the first round instead of Clippers and Lakers. I prefer the Jazz and Suns over Clippers and Lakers. We have no chance against the defense of the L.A. teams
if opposing defense is the issue, then, for the Blazers, it's a top-4-seed-pick-your-poison situation if you're right, Portland's 'only realistic chance' might be to get up to a 4/5 matchup with Denver
I admit this has crossed my mind as well. No team will be easy, but the LA teams have star power, and with that comes the refs being even more of a factor. I would prefer to play Utah and Phoenix or Denver as well. The problem though is what if the Jazz fall out of that top position and the Clippers move up? They are all too close to call. But looking at the schedule I do expect us to drop out of the 6th spot. However, if we don't, that will mean the Blazers will have improved over the next few weeks.
