Maybe we could snag Boucher as well. He doesn't fit their timeline.

They probably wouldn't but no doubt CJ would be all star material in the East and he's a marketing pull. He's create's mid range shots as well as many guards in the league.
The guys you mention are all very small Graham I believe plays PG mostly? Rosier is 6'1 & Monk 6'3. Im not sure any of those three can score with CJ? Im pulling this out my rear?

If we moved CJ for KP... I think the first step would be to find a team that valued Nurk enough to get the value he brings us in return.

Would Indy be into CJ and Nurk for Brogdon and Turner???

I know I would like that for us. If did that deal and fired Stotts, I bet we could bring back Norm... we might even be able to get DJ to pick up his player option. I would give Dame his 36 or so minutes in the back court and split the other 60 between Norm and Brogdon. That would be a nice back court. I it all went down that way, we'd have a rotation like Dame, Norm, DJ, RoCo, Turner, Brogdon, MLE, Nas, and Enes. That would be a lot better than what we're working with now.

    James Harden
    Kyrie Irving
    Ben Simmons
    Khris Middleton
    Trae Young
    Jalen Brown
    Jaysun Tatum
    Jimmy Butler
    Bradley Beal
    Russell Westbrook
    Zach Lavine
    Malcolm Brogdon

    Colin Sexton
    DeVonte' Graham
    Lamelo Ball

I'm not sure why it would be an easier path to the all-star game for CJ in the east

I think that would be asking for too much but who knows.

Dont discount CJ marketing ability on the East Coast especially if he can shoot 23 plus times a game. I get your point though.
Your right it would be easy, but w/o being Dames side kick and if he was on a team where they gave him the green light, coupled with his marketability you never know.
He plays for a small market team now and is second fiddle and he's fairly well known. Imagine if he was in Chicago or the Knicks?

They NBA is all about marketing with few teams that contend but many flashy players that the league markets.

No I mean what happens to CJ's style when he is on a new team. How many all-star level players are going to sit by and watch him do iso-ball night after night? Dame is ok with it and has indicated that when he is ok with CJ jacking up shots since they are like brothers. Not a lot of players would be so generous if it costs them touches.

Knicks wouldn't give up all that for CJ. That's 1 good prospect + 2 firsts.
    That's an overpay for them.

I listen to A LOT of Dallas sports talk radio, and he's definitely gettable despite what Nelson/Cuban say in public. Dallas and Portland are like sister teams. Basically, two really talented players with flaws surrounded by a bunch of middling players and guys starting who shouldn't be starters. What's interesting is Carlisle is considered a top 5 coach, and he can't get that team to respond much differently than Stotts does with Portland. Although, granted, Dallas plays elite competition tougher than Portland does maybe because they have good size. Anyway, there are rumblings that Luka and KP aren't getting along, so, yeah, I think KP is definitely gettable. It's not like Dallas paid through the roof to get him, so they may be more quick to dispose him. That said, I don't think our fanbase and KP is a match made to last long.

Carlisle is a good coach, but I wouldn't have him top 5. Most likely a top 15 coach (slightly above average).

KP would be interesting on this team... We'd finally be able to field a team that didn't feel like we are significantly undersized all the time.
    Dame, Norm, RoCo, KP, Nurk

If this were the case then Iverson and Westbrook would have been loathed by their teammates, but by all accounts they're pretty much universally beloved. Sometimes it's good to have the burden on somebody else's shoulders, even if it's taking shots.

more than 23 shots a game? Beal leads NBA this season at 22.6....and he plays for a crappy team. CJ would have to be the best player on a team to get anywhere close to 23 shots, and a team with CJ as best player isn't going to be a playoff team

Not happening since they are Dame’s friends. We are stuck with them with Stotts

Dame was friends with Batum and he got traded; was a good friend of Will Barton and he got traded; was a good friend of Plumlee and he got traded; was a good friend of Tim Frazier and he got waived; was a good friend of Ed Davis and he was allowed to walk without an offer; was a friend of Hood and he just got traded

I think this narrative that Dame's friends don't get traded or waived is myth
