The very idea that we are considering him makes me furious. This reeks of Olshey desperately clinging to a job he has long not deserved to keep, and worse than that, it will drag Dame's reputation down seriously.

I only voted "Hell no" because a simple "no" wasn't an option.

Pretty funny beings we heard nothing but "Anyone would be better than Stotts" for like the last two months on here. Now not one person has voted they want him.

Well I said no not because of his past but I don't think he is the right person with this group of guys due majority of these guys will be back. What I seen his past I don't think demeanor is right for this group. Plus I also getting tired of superstar try to pick there team and there coach. That's why you got gm for that's his job not the player job. It's alright what player thinks but that's as far it's goes. It's gm job to do wants best for the whole team not just one player. Get little tired these superstar if they don't get there way they want throw a fit and ask to be traded and weak ass ownership buckles to there commands it's biggest bullshit I ever see. The funny thing about it they tell the team which team they want be traded to. If it's up to me I would traded you to the worst possible place that there is.

Very mediocre coaching career to this point. Maybe he can make the jump?

Yeah, the team should totally rehire Stotts because the first me suggested is of a worse coach!

    Set the bar higher.

Drama has always followed Kidd. I would seriously consider giving up my season seats if he is hired.

If we want a real poll, someone should make a list but not allow comments (because you know it's not going to end well)

Yeah no I don't want Kidd at all. It sucks that this is Dame's top choice it puts us between a rock and a hard spot. Either we appease to Dame and get yet another mediocre coach or we hire who we think can best lead this team and if it goes south, then quite possibly Dame may want out. But no on Kidd.

Just to be clear i am not a fan of Kidd as the next HC but i will play devil's advocate for a minute also i am NOT factoring in Kidds off the court stuff too ONLY his coaching career ....

When and using another sport to make this argument but the great Bill Belichick he was the HC of the Browns and that team was BAD and people were like can this guy coach and then he got in the right situation and the right player ( Brady ) and he rest is history. Now Kidd when he was the HC for the Nets and Bucks he never had that player who was just a super stud like the Blazers have in Dame -- for the Nets he coached aan aging team of past stars past there prime in KG and Joe Johnson and others and with Bucks Giannis was just starting to come into his own and the Bucks had injury issues throughout Kidd's tenure. All i am is saying with the right STAR player and right team any coach can rise above his past record and maybe Kidd could too.

Now back to reality -- Kidd best case i see as Stotts only maybe a TOUCH better or worse so a side grade

I don’t like it that the head coach position appears to be set in an orbit around former players that Dame admires. I’d like to think the emphasis was going to be on getting the best basketball mind and player motivator available. OTOH, I’m willing to admit that all I know of Kidd is what I’ve read and seen in the media, which isn’t very appealing. His personal life was a mess 10-15 years ago. His first coaching jobs yielded mediocre results and reports of him getting into a loud and abusive power struggle with Lawrence Frank. Media reports seldom give the full story and I am also a believer that people can mature and change their ways. I think it speaks well of him that he accepted an assistant position with the Lakers after his head coaching failures. All of that said, if we’re going with the two guys who Dame has said he likes, I would much rather go with Chauncey Billups.

I wonder if Dame realizes how much of a massive hit his rep (his "brand"?) has taken in the last day.

I disagree ...the idea that now major markets are burning up the phone trying to get him he's the hot ticket item ....people are still thinking of his 55/10 game in Denver...not that we lost but that ....damn...Dame is a superstar....if you don't think Lebron is on the phone with him right now you're not seeing what sort of brand he's actually built....it's a global brand, not limited to Blazer fans by any stretch

It’s almost** funny that so many people wanted to fire Stotts and were so hopeful and excited and possibly the worst replacement in the NBA is even a possibility, and Damian is the one who wants it. You can’t make this shit up
