Mike D'Antoni wants the job. He always seemed "un spectacular" to me. I believe he was an assistant with the Nets. At least, in his career, he coached a team to a second round before failing.

People who are rapists are among the scum of earth.

But I also realize that celebrities have money signs on their back and some women can be crazy. Because it was settled with money doesn’t mean someone’s guilty always. It sometimes can be because they don’t want to drag their family through it. I’d be curious the history of the accuser.

I think one of the reasons Billups hasn't gotten a GM or HC job could be because of this story.
Teams do a deep dive into candidates past and with the scrutiny now days, truth or not, teams can act in a preventative manner.

Some of the posts going around about MDA are a bit fiction. He was to the Conference Finals twice and probably should have won both if not for a garbage suspension to Stoudamire + and CP3's tweeked hamstring when they were up 3-2 on the dynasty Warriors.

I wonder if he wants it bad enough to take a one year "prove it" contract.

We probably should’ve won in the conf finals too except nurk and Zach were out dame had a strained abdominal muscle and enes played with a broken collar bone. Injuries have certainly hurt us in playoff runs. D’antoni Also had more talent when they made a run

Tpup there’s a big difference between fiction and opinion. Check out how many teams have fired him that hired him to improve them when he failed to. Knicks and lakers prime examples. Both hoped he’d repeat his glory days with the suns. Raja bell had some harsh words for his coaching and defensive deficiencies and we need a two way coach

    wut?

Nurk was out, but Zach and Dame were healthy. I can't remember what Kanter's injury was, but the Warriors did a pretty good job of exposing Kanter's bad defense, just like Denver recently did

And Portland didn't lose the series 2-4, they got their asses swept again. Blazers are 3-13 in playoff games when Nurkic plays so he pretty obviously isn't the key to playoff wins

there's no "Blazers should have won" that I can see

I thought Zach was out that series but dame played with a strained abdominal muscle. Same thing he rested a few games this season and yes I believe we could’ve won with a healthy back out etc. tpup cited cp3 and amare injuries for d’antoni losing to the warriors but they beat us with a limping roster that series as well

Kanter had a broken collarbone and played with one arm while fasting for Ramadan

I don't remember Dame being injured. He was last season and missed the final game of the series

other than Nurkic, the Blazers had everybody. BUT, the Warriors swept the Blazers and did so without Durant...so if we're using the injury excuse....

the biggest issue in that GS series is the same one they just had in the Denver series: CJ played like shit but kept hogging the ball

He talked about playing through it and how CJ had to take over in the Denver series.....it was posted on the team website in his own words...this year he said he still has lingering problems with the strain since that season...as meticulous as you are about most things I'm shocked you don't recall this situation. Also shocked you didn't know Enes played with a broken collarbone in the finals and against the Nuggets in the semi finals...

Dame averaged 41 minutes in that Warrior series so it could not have been bothering him in any significant fashion

I know Kanter was injured and I remember the shoulder wrap. But I sure thought it was a mild separation of the AC joint which anchors the clavicle to the shoulder. I don't think it was a broken collarbone, but maybe my recollection is wrong

bottom line though is that even healthy, Portland wasn't going to beat the Warriors that series. And if you magically make Portland healthy, you have to apply the same magic to the Warrior and put Durant out there

not only could it bother him...it did, in his own words...it's bothered him off and on since...we got beat anyway....that wasn't my point...we did not use injuries as an excuse after all was said and done but every team gets injured...it's part of the game

So a few players weren't enamored with MDA? That is an endoresement in my eyes. Give me someone that everyone likes and thinks is a 'nice guy' and you'll likely get someone who hasn't accomplished very much. Michael Jordon pissed people off, so did Kobe, so did Phil Jackson, so has Pop....and the list goes on.

Not just a few players....a few major market teams...MJ, Kobe and Phil didn't get fired as coaches or players over their temperament....D'Antoni didn't get fired because of his temper....Phil Jackson and Pop are in a whole different league as coaches who have multiple championships under their belt and stayed with their franchises or in Phil's case two franchises as coach. Pissing people off is not a coaching asset and never has been in my view. Steve Kerr says Pop was the most relaxed coach he ever worked for....don't get fooled by his media snark...Phil wasn't called the Zen Master because he acted like Bobby Knight either
