I agree that I don’t want to trade him just to trade him. I also want to make sure we don’t lose Norm though.

Yeah, it really feels like you gotta have Norm locked in before you move CJ. I like him ok at like 4/80 or so. But I'm scared NY or Dallas gets stupid with an offer, and then we're SOL.

Does Dallas have the cap space to do that though?

Not without renouncing players, so extreemly unlikely.
Just looking through free agents, and there's not a lot out there, am curious to see what NY does with their offseason. Tons of $$ to spend, but nobody really worth doing it on.

Have a hard time seeing him leave PHX to go there.

Really you think CJ can change with a different coach. But not his offense CJ just a bad defender and not going get better with age. I know what regular stats show but watching him the past game he is just not good on that end.

I think it's possible that a good coach could get the absolute best out of CJ on offense. Go look at Nash's stats in Dallas and then his stats in Phoenix. It's almost a completely different player.

I'm not sure. I've only seen him play under one coach who ran an extremely iso-heavy system and didn't know how to coach defense.

    Three-way trade:

    Portland receives:

    D. DeRozan from San Antonio
    D. Green from Golden State

    Golden State receives:

    D. Murray from San Antonio
    R. Covington from Portland

    San Antonio receives:

    CJ McCollum from Portland
    D. Jones Jr. from Portland
    H. Giles III from Portland

    summation:

DeRozan gives us a small forward to play with Dame and Powell
Green gives us a PF that can be our defensive stopper
    and championship leadership
We don’t want DJJ or Giles anyway
RoCo will be a loss, but we may get Collins back

    I’d re-sign Melo and Kanter

increase Ant’s and Little’s plying time

seek a PG and another PF via free agency and/or draft

DeRosen is important to help run Hammon’s offense and defense

you know, I was telling my wife that Portland will be interviewing a female for the head coaching job! I then explained that Paul Allen gave the team to his Sister after his death…and how she LOVES the Seahawks…and then it hit me!!!

Seattle SuperSonics - alive and well in Key Arena…Dame Lillard, DeRozan, Nurkic et al with the first female head coach in Hammons….

    oh no COULD IT BE?

    Summer of love in Seattle

Well I believe enough good defender in my life and CJ is not one of them. Offense hold different story can learn different offense sure but your right we don't know how he would do. But defense he follows the ball to much that's make him to loose his man. He length will be always a problem on defense. It's nice he score 25 points but if he he gives up almost the same it's becomes a wash.

Kanter and Melo helped get us to the playoffs. And with a healthy Nurkic, Name a better vet back-up center who can rebound and score like Kanter. And he’s a great guy! Melo can get 10 minutes a game - insert him when we need points. When Melo gets on a roll, there just isn’t a better 8th or 9th man. If he won’t like the reduced minutes, then maybe he goes. But give me Kanter and Melo all day long. These guys weren’t a detriment - it was DJJ, RoCo and CJ that didn’t live up to their potential.

BOS Gets: C.J. McCollum, Robert Covington, Myles Turner
POR Gets: Jaylen Brown, Al Horford
IND Gets: Aaron Nesmith, 2025 POR 1st, 2027 POR 1st
OKC Gets: Kemba Walker, 2022 POR 1st, Future 2nds

    Portland
    Lillard / Simons
    Powell / Brown
    Brown / DJJ
    Collins / Little
    Nurkic / Horford

Feel free to add an MLE level player in here. Could switch off Little/Collins starting roles depending on match-up, or could hope for an MLE signing to start at the 4.

    Boston
    McCollum / Pritchard
    Smart / Langford
    Tatum / Fournier
    Covington / MLE
    Turner / Williams

Boston would be a top 10 offense and top 5 defense IMO.

Indiana - Gets two 1sts and the 14th pick from last year as well as monetary savings and a TPE for Turner

OKC - Gets picks back for taking on salary
