I've seen you say this a couple times now. Aside from taking an opportunity to let your conservatism shine through while dumping on Portland, I'm just not sure there's much there to shit all over (or even near)?

Beyond decades-old allegations and settlements, we know absolutely nothing about what did or didn't happen. We DO know that Billups has a squeaky clean record since then and comes extremely highly recommended. I'm sure his history will be mentioned by the media, and sure, some folks will raise an eye, and maybe they lose a handful of fans, but if we're being honest, they probably lost a couple for firing Stotts too.

Maybe you're making some incorrect assumptions about being "woke" (that we instantly take the most liberal stance on any headline, regardless of context) or really assuming the worst of the media (that they'll lead the story with his history, instead of the fact that he's the Blazers' new head coach -- which is frankly, just absurd) but I think "it will be big" is a drastic overreaction.

At this point I’m hoping for D’Antoni hire with a good defensive assistant. Hammon hire would be underwhelming to me.

Meh... There might be some who get a bee in their bonnet - but it will blow over quickly.

those are the people that feed off outrage, and would surely find something else to bitch about within a week. Total self serving losers with no actual care for anything except noise.

So with the names that have surfaced so far as candidates, MDA is the only one with head coaching experience. Are you OK with him? I personally like Billups but I have no idea if he'd be a good head coach, I just like him as a former player and his personality.

I would bet one of the people here praising Billups would, if he was hired, say he is garbage just like the rest of the Blazers organization.

which is why I think it’s an ownership call if it ends up being anyone else.

I don't think D'Antoni hire with a good defensive coordinator and a big man coach would be a bad hire at all.

The trend of the league seems to be leaning towards younger former players. If we’re following the trend, I like Billups’ odds.

Interesting..... I'm a registered democrat. I voted for Obama. I'm in favor of gay rights, in favor of right to choose. But you decided to put me in a box because I used the word woke?

I'd rather have Stotts than Carlisle. No thanks.

Seems like you are describing this Nate Bishop guy in here that posts 24/7 like he has nothing else to do.

That guy is the one already bringing up his past and the outrage he thinks it will bring, he is the John Canzano of this forum lol.
